We had a bad smell and back-ups in our kitchen sink and it wouldn't plunge, so I called Southside Plumbing. Abraham picked up right away and came out that afternoon. He accessed the mess that was our kitchen plumbing (the previous owners did a cheap remodel) and knew that we needed more than snaking our line. He came back the next day with all the supplies he needed and re-worked our kitchen plumbing. It functions as it should now and I couldn't be happier. Abraham is a kind, respectful and knowledgable plumber, concerned with doing a quality job that will last for years. Should I need a plumber in the future, I'll call Southside Plumbing.

I called Southside, having used them in the past to clear a clogged drain in my kitchen, to fix a leaking water heater. Abraham, the young but ambitious owner, arrived himself with an assistant, and fixed my water heater within the first 10 minutes. Not wanting to waste the hourly fee of ($75/hr?), i asked him to address a wobbly toilet in our guest bath. Abraham initially said it was simply a poor seal, and went to work removing the toilet from the floor. We were both shocked and alarmed to find that there was no pipe connecting our sewage to the toilet, and that the toilet was not even bolted to the floor! Someone had simply placed the toilet on an open, gaping hole in the ground, leaving a gap of almost 10" to the sewage pipe. Dollar signs immediately flooded my mind, but Abraham informed me this was a terrible hazard, and that someone might have fallen; also, the potential damage had the sewage backed up was very serious. I voiced my concerns to him about the extra work, and he reassured me that he would do what he could to keep the cost low. For the next four hours, he ran in and out, and personally sautered (sic?) a new pipe to the toilet, connecting it to the line; then he replaced the toilet, shimmed it, and put in a seal to keep it solid. As the hours ticked by, i got more nervous, but when it was time to pay the bill, he couldn't have been more generous. I was also very touched by the considerate and professional treatment i received, and by the respectful way he treated his assistant. It's been over a year since we've had the work done, and he's still the only plumber i'll ever call.
