Came in on a Friday and took out all the kitchen sinks, cabinets and countertops, they built new kitchen cabinets and installed on a saturday and sunday, monday, placed flood lights in kitchen and bathrooms, installed a new pantry also, placed new bathtub and toilet in extra bathroom, and refinished the bathroom cabinets, in our master bedroom placed new shower only installed and new toilet. They did both bathrooms 2 days before thanksgiving.

was kind of nervous since I have had some very negative experiences with other contractors. a manager recommended him to me and said he would do a very good job. and yes, he did! workers very detailed oriented. crew did an amazing job and never complained about little things I was requesting. crew went above and beyond the call of duty. he also recommended some color choices I wasn't excited about, but I trusted his instinct and am so glad I did.....love the outcome!......I am highly recommending him. one other thing..... he has such a good sense of humor....and that's always a plus!

We have no complaints at all. They were honest, respectful, dependable, punctual, and work hard all day long. The crew cleaned up each day and asked us if the work was good. Their main goal was to please us, the customer. We have a big house with a lot of woodwork, and they knocked everything out in two weeks. We will definitely use them again. Great work!

Upon calling Mr. Shaw he immediately told me he would come back and wash up all the screens and windows and replace the AC coils with a new cover, which he did. I also requested that he touch up a few paint spots the sprayer didn't entirely cover and he had no problems completing all of my requests. I was very satisfied over all! I completely trust Mr. Shaw to be a man of his word and will not hesitate to use Shaw painting again!

Mr Shaw was pleasant and professional. Got the the job done very quickly. Worked with us on getting part of it done prior to Xmas. Will definitely be hiring him to do more work on our home.

Same as above statement, we are going to hire him again to re-do our kitchen cabinets and counter tops and 2 bathrooms will be remodeled also.

Mr Shaw is always the professional. He had installed a simulated wood flooring on my staircase. He did the best job possible but because of the workmanship of the staircase it was very difficult. It didn't hold up and he was more than willing to come out and change the stairs back to carpet. I am so happy with the outcome of the stairs and how well it looks. I would never hesitate to use Mr. Shaw for any repairs that I would need at my home.

He was here the day after we called him. And had the job finished very quickly.Always cleans up after himself too. We had changed insurance companies on the house and they inspected the roof and the house before they would Insure us. All the things that they found wrong were what John fixed for us. He has done work for us in the past and we have never been disappointed In the price, quality, or reliability. He knows his stuff, He is a general contractor but when it comes to home remodeling or repair of any kind you will not find anyone out there any better or for a better price. We are soon to remodel both of our bath rooms and John will be doing that work for us too. I myself think he is very reasonable when it comes to his estimates, but most important to me also is that when he is done, it looks fantastic.

Excellent job! Were on time everyday. Performed work as if it was their own home. Did several fix-ups around home just because they were needed and with no extra charges (ex. doors, dryer vent, etc..). John, John Jr. and Vincent were very professional. Thanks, John. You will getting more business in the future..

Mr Shaw was very pleasent to deal with on this project. I had renters moving in to the property in two weeks and decided that I needed to have the carpet replaced. I was leary because I had just been messed over by a painting company. I live in VA and had to return home soon after the fiasco that the painting company created. I knew I would have to work and quot;long distanceand quot; with who ever I choose. Mr. Shaw has some very nice reviews on Angie's so I decided to take a leap of faith.
I was not disappointed. I had a friend that agreed to meet with him and let him in the house for estimate and work. He was prompt and helpful and paid close attention to what I wanted. He was quick with my estimate and thou he was a little higher that others, his kindness and honesty lead me choose him.
He knew I had a quick deadline and he was there right away. The stairs were a tasking but he was able to make them look seamless. He cleaned everything up in the house when he was done and you could not tell that there had been a major project done there only two days before move in.
I can not stress how wonderful his work and professional his work and his attitude were. He will be my first contact for any work in the future.

Outstanding Company. The way business should be done.

John's crew with their mobile work trailer arrived around 8:30 A.M. on Monday as he said. My townhouse that I wanted painted was completely empty so they did not have to move or cover any furniture. The proceeded to prep the unit by removing electrical cover plates, heating vents, etc.; sanding and patching any holes in the plaster; covering all my custom built-in cabinets and ceiling fans with plastic; and laying down painter's tarp on the flooring to protect the area from potential paint splashes.
They started with the ceilings. However, they applied the paint to a small section of the ceiling as a test area and asked me to check to make sure if the colour was to my liking before proceeding because the shade colour seemed slightly darker than the shad I had selected and purchased for the ceilings. When John and I looked again at the PPG paint sample in their colour catalogue and compared it to the paint on the ceiling, we both concluded that the shade on the wall was somewhat a darker shade that the colour sample. It may have been possilbe that the person mixing the paint at the store might have made an error. John wanted to make sure I would be completely satisfied with the result and promptly offered to return the paint and get specifically what was ordered. Even though the shade was slightly darker, I actually liked it and instructed John to use the paint and continue painting the ceilings.
John's on site work crew consisted of his son, John Jr., and his helper, Valentin. Both guys are extremely hard workers and very professional, friendly, courteous, and trustworthy young men. John would drop by at least once everyday to see how they were doing and touch base with me to give me an update. He also instructed his guys in front of me that they should ask me if they have any questions or doubts about how I want something done to make sure I am happy with it. I had given John Jr. one of the garage door openers for the unit so they could let themselves in and out the unit. Every day before they left they made sure the unit was locked and secure and let me know they were leaving.
If memory serves, the guys finished the work Friday evening or they make have done so on Saturday morning. I have to say I was surprised to see how quickly just two guys were able to paint the entire area so quiclkly and professionally. They did everything free had and did not have to tape anything. Now that is the sign of an excellent painter in my books.
When they were finished, John Shaw came over to review the completed job and then contacted me to review the work product with him in detail to make sure I was completely satisfied. I checked out every room in detail and was very pleased with the work. I even noticed that the guys even cleaned all the electrical cover plates and heating vents before they replaced them and installed a new one in the Master Bath because it had rusted somewhat because of humidity. The work site was also left very clean.
After I reviewed the completed work with John, I met with him privately to square up with him and pay him for the job. I issued him a check for $4,175.00, and he sincerely thanked me for giving him the work and told me to call him if I had questions or concerns later on and to call him in the future if he could help me.
In short, John Shaw's work is excellent and he is a very honest and trustworthy man. I highly recommend him to anyone.

Shaw gave us n estimate and was able to do the work within a couple weeks.

The process went quite well - everything was completed with two or three days and I was very happy with the results.

When we returned home, we found our entire living room covered with sawdust. They had not covered our custom sectional or moved anything but one chair that was in their way. When my husband punched one of the couch cushions, sawdust rose up from it. We have vacuumed it but will now have to pay to have it steam cleaned. Everything in the room had a layer of sawdust on it.
He also did not use the type of window that I asked him to use. This one is a cheaper variety than our other windows.
He installed the lights and did a good job but there is joint compound on each light that I am having trouble cleaning off. These lights are the rubbed bronze and the joint compound is very visible. In addition they left old drywall and trash on the breakfast bar.
Overall, his work was good. The window is in well. It's just a lower quality window and the mess was astounding.

They came on time at 8:00am and left at 5:30pm, and all day job, they started with the garage by scraping off the ceiling and walls of garage and did the dry wall were needed and the installed a drop down ladder in the garage to be able to get to the attic. They reinforced the edges of the garage with lumber to make a trim and look nicer. They installed some plywood in part of the ceiling where the sheet rock was falling down, my husband wanted that instead of sheet rock again. Around 2pm one of the men went inside the house to fix the cracks on the wall and dry walled them, we were very satisfied when the left at 5:30pm.
