First, I had to insist on a signed contract of all work to be performed. He didn't have the funds to purchase the basic necessities to start the job. I had to purchase all materials and use my trailer to get the material to my property. He didn't have the skilled craftsmen to do the job. He would start generally around 11 am, and workers who had regular jobs would start showing up around 6 pm, then he wanted to work until dark. The quality of work was poor. If it weren't for my constant quality control check, no telling what he would have tried to get away with. The project was 90% completed. Once his money ran out, he would only come a few hours a couple of days a week. I had to call him every day to find out if he was going to show up. The regular.. I'm on my way, be there first thing in the morning, excuses, excuses, excuses. The only quality work was a subcontractor he had to hire to show some progress, when they started to cost him too much, He let them go. I thought I did my home work, but I still got nothing but B.S., I give you my word, please have faith in me... I don't want to leave on bad terms. I hope this helps someone make a better judgment than I did. Don't invest your time and money on this contractor. I will say thank you to his father and brother, if it wasn't for them, this review would be worse.
