We could not be more pleased with the service we've received from Owen Plumbing.had great service today from Owen Plumbing, who was sent by our home warranty company. I want Angie's List members to know about the great service I received, so that others may benefit as well. From the scheduling staff to the technician, everyone at Owen Plumbing was professional, prompt, helpful, thorough, courteous and kind. It is clear that they each really enjoy their work and truly care about helping their customers. This is the second time we have used Owen Plumbing, and they have exceeded our expectations both times. When our kitchen drain was backing up, and then we began having issues with our washing machine over-flowing, Chad (the technician) listened to our explanation of what had been happening and asked questions to clearly assess the situation. He not only took care of the presenting problems, but thoroughly checked and cleared other lines to make sure that everything that could have been contributing to or could have been effected by those problems was addressed. He even cleaned up the mess after doing the repair- a rare quality in any service tech! He takes the time to educate us so that we can better understand what is happening as well as what other factors may be involved (tree roots, household habits, etc), and is also great about explaining our options for preventative care and treatment of issues; this is greatly appreciated and relieves my anxiety about the unknown and "worse case scenarios"! We are so thankful to have found such reliable plumbers to help us keep our home in good working order and ease the stress of home ownership.

I noticed a wet area in our closet, so Owen Plumbing was sent out as part of our home warranty. There was initially a mixup in the scheduling (partly my fault), but they worked with me and got someone out the next day. The plumber got here and figured out the problem immediately. He went right to work and fixed it in good time. This only cost me my deductible for my home warranty....luckily, but I don't think he was here more than 45 min to an hour.

Professional and prompt and explained the whole process.  Did partial PEX reroute with minimal disruption to the house.  Would use them again.

It was pretty competitive. I called around and got a few estimates and they were in the ball pack, that's why I used them.

Owen Plumbing is our regular plumber, and have been out for jobs in the past. They are always available to come out on fairly short notice, and we generally get Jonathan, whom we just love. He's very friendly, knowledgeable, and does a good job. At times communication with the office can be a bit frustrating, but we've never had issues with their service at our house. Not sure if the price for this work was good or not, as we did not go out for any other bids. On our first appointment they had to scope the line to figure out where the blockage was (we had roots growing through our old clay pipe), and there were two. They sent an estimate to replace two sections of the line, we approved, and then they sent a team of diggers to dig down to the pipe, then a pair to repair it, and then the diggers again to cover the pipe. Three visits. They didn't come out the day we initially expected them, so we ended up with two large open pits in our yard over a weekend, which we weren't that happy about. Also, the diggers dug two separate holes for the repair work leaving approximately two feet covered in between. Well had we known how close together the two bad sections were (we weren't home when they dug the holes) we would have just had them dig out the whole stretch and replaced a longer section rather than two shorter sections. Even the repairmen wondered why it had been done that way, so I think a little more common sense on behalf of the digging crew would have been nice. All said and done, we've had no issues with the line since, and we will continue to use Owen because of positive experiences in the past.

This wouldn't have had to be replaced if he would have fixed it the first time when I had him look at it. At that time he just looked at it and wiggled stuff around in the tank.
I wouldn't use them again except I have to because they are on the home insurance policy list of providers.

I'm selling my house and the buyers had their plumber check the pipes in my home for leaks and it failed. Owen's came out and tested my pipes and thoroughly began eliminating where the leak was not. They discovered that a trap pipe had previously been repaired by the owner that had it before me and it was a bad repair. They had to cut a small hole in my wall to get to it but they fixed it and we installed an access door (purchased from Home Depot fairly cheap and easily installed) for the next homeowner in case they ever need to get to that plumbing again. I was there the whole time and these guys didn't mind getting dirty, were friendly and knowledable. If I ever have plumbing issues is the future I think I would hire these guys. I thought the repair was going to cost me an arm and a leg but was relieved when I found out it was under $500.
They also installed a cleanout that the City of Corpus Christi had removed erroneously (it was on my property and was my plumbing not the Citys!) so I had them install another one which took only 30 minutes for them to dig a hole, saw into the main drain and install and cleanout. Word of advise, if the City of CC ever does plumbing work on your property get a detailed report on what exactly did there because they can't be trusted.

Not well! Company was sent by my HMS Warranty on 1/22/14.. Before even addressing the issue or looking @ my water heater the technician requested I pay the deductible up front. He diagnosed the control panel was not working with out even using any electrical equipment to test it- he eye balled it. I questioned him about that and he stated"are you trying to tell me how to do my job?". He called Whirlpool and ordered the new control panel and told me it was being overnighted to me. I was instructed to call the company when it came in so they could come back out and replace the old one. It took 5 days to receive so out of hot water that long. Called to have them come out and they wanted to schedule duiring my work hours again. I arranged to get off work early and was @ my home by 4:30pm. It took the technician 10 minutes to replace and he did state he was not happy as I was his 7th call that day and he will be going into overtime again which the company would give him grief about. Water heater worked ok but had to reset a couple of times in the last 60 days. I did report my dissatisfaction of the company to HMS Warranty. Yesterday 3/31/14 I was without hot water and went to check the control box to reset again and found the upper left hand corner with a quarter size melted hole and electric arching. I checked the wiring diagram on the booklet and was able to see the wire connection to the 220v was right there where it melted. My guess is the technician did not cover the wires correctly and they touched and arched and set off the melting process. Called the company to come out to look at it as it had only been 63 days and was informed their work is only guarenteed for 30 days and since it was a home warranty I would have to contact the HMS Warranty. I did call Whirlpool my self to order a new control panel in preparation for the new upcoming repair which they are sending out overnight free of charge. I did inquire about the last shipment in Jan 14 and was informed there was no request to send it out overnight. Needless to say I informed HMS Warranty I would never allow Owen Plumbing to step fot in my home again.

We waited 5 days for them to schedule us for the water heater problem. I was able to lite the pilot and get us some hot water over the 5 day period, however once they replaced the control value it didn't work at all. So here we sit for another day without hot water. I would say the service and knowledge is marginal at best. Washing in cold water!!!

Arrived on site when agreed. They evaluated the leak and ordered a new water heater. After it arrived, they installed it. A week or so later, there was a small leak and the company came back and fixed the leak.

When I moved in to my house there was a hose left by the previous owner because the old hose was coroded on to it. When we tried to remove it, it turned into a massive mess. Owen Plumbing came out the next week and they ended up replacing them.

Unclogging went fine. Not so good for the estimate. It took almost 3 weeks to recieve the estimate after numerous attempts (phone and office visit). Finally when we received the estimate, it was just a figure with no breakdown of the cost. Insurance was willing to pay for all tunneling and trenching but this amount was not provided as requested. I've heard they are good and very busy but this took longer than we anticipated. Another dealer gave us a proposal the very next day.
Response from OWEN PLUMBING & DRAIN INC

"We are pleased that you were satisfied with the initial service call of unclogging your sewer line and sorry for the delay in getting the free estimate to you. At the time the estimate was requested we were extremely busy with a 2-3 week backlog."

They came out to unplug the drain and it was near the end of the day, the guy came and said he did the job and left. The next day the drain was not fixed and I called the company back and they said they'd charge me the full fee of the service and the service call fee, even though they had come the previous day and not done the job correctly. Needless to say, I did not use them a second time.
Response from OWEN PLUMBING & DRAIN INC

"This job was an emergency service call through a home warranty for sewer line blockage. We arrived at home with in 2 hours and could not locate any visible clean outs. Although the home warranty did not pay for searching and locating sewer clean outs, we spent over 30 minutes probing and digging to find the clean outs. We informed owner that we could no longer keep searching for clean outs under warranty claim and that we would have to go through roof vent or trace out sewer line to locate outside sewer line. Owner informed us that he would like to continue searching for clean outs himself (which we left him a probing rod to help in search) and then he would call us back to reschedule clean out of line. Owner called back next day and wanted to go through roof vent since he could not find sewer clean outs. We cleared line through vent on roof and recommended to trace out sewer line and install clean outs which owner did not want to do at this time. Owner called back following day and wanted line cleaned out again through roof with no charge and we informed him that there would be charge to come back to run through roof with 2 men. We can not guarantee clearing a line by running through roof vent. We are sorry (member name removed) is unhappy with our service although we did job as he requested."

I did the research and these guys are in the plumbing business for quite a long time. Compared reviews and estimates with other Plumbers and I decided to Owen Plumbing to get my system in working order. I thought the problem I encountered would have led to major problems and it would be very costly. I was thinking of worse case senario that I might have a foundation problem. The contractor kept my mind at ease and recommended that we try to clean the main plumbing sewage drain leaving my property to see if the back-up of sewage would clear. The problem was a back-up from about 40 to 50 feet from my property on the city side. What a relief, I'm sure glad it was nothing serious. If, in the event I will need the to hire a plumber again this company will be my go to guys. This company in my terms are very porfessional and answer questions and give step by step process as where we would need to go next after ckecking the obvious.

Terrible experience. First of all, Randy (their plumber) put a hole in the water line that he was supposed to repair. We got a leak behind the cabinets and into the garage. I called "Peggy" who said she didn't understand how the work Randy did would cause a leak in the garage. DUH! How would she know if she wasn't on-site?? She asked if someone had to come out that evening or if it could wait? DUH!! I told her we were getting more water in the garage as we spoke. My husband heard something under the sink and removed all the contents to discover the hose Randy was supposed to have fixed was now spraying the contents of the cabinet, and had been doing so for hours. My husband immediately shut-off the water to prevent any further damage. They sent an on-call technician who came in and replaced the entire hose. I forgot to mention the nasty attitude of "Peggy". She is the one who answers when you call. Rude, ignorant, uneducated. My advice to anyone is, CALL SOMEONE ELSE!!!!

I had called a number of plumbers asking for a quote and this company was one of the few that quoted the job. They gave me a price up front and it was competitive. We set a date for the install and the plumber arrived on time, did a professional job, I paid him the quoted price.
Like all plumbers, I felt their markup on the hot water heater was excessive but since I did not have the where with all to buy direct I was in a take it or leave it position. As plumbers go they were good to deal with.

He was prompt to get here and fixed the broken pipe quickly. He supplied one part for $12, and the rest was labor. I found out after he left that this company gives a 10% senior discount. He did not offer that when he presented the bill, and I am very obviously a senior. I called the company and was told that they give a senior discount if you ask for it when the plumber is here. I paid by check so I asked them to hold the check and I would pick it up; she agreed to hold it.

they were very helpful on the phone, believe it was a "Maggie" that answered the call and scheduled the visits. Understood that we had been without hot water for a while and worked the first call in very quickly with no hassle. the 1st tech came in assessed what was needed and called it in. They took only 1 day to order water heater and parts and the appointment was set the very next day. Parker was the tech/plumber who came in and did the installation, knew what he was doing, worked fast, clean and did a very professional job. would definitely recommend their services
