He did a fine job, equally as good as when I mow it myself. Took extra care not to mow with all the recent heavy rains as he was concerned about digging ruts.

Originally it went well.  I had to remind him that I wanted the clippings bagged.
However, the quality of the work deteriorated.  I think that  he must have taken on too many clients because he hired my lawn out to one of his workers.  One worker cut the bark off of 4 of my fruit trees around the base when he was using the trimmer.  I noted this to Robert and told him they would die.  He said the he would replace the trees if they die.  They all died and now he is reneging on his promise to replace them.  Two trees were pomegranate trees that cost approximately $100 a piece.  One was a mandarin orange and one was a lemon tree from Home Depot.
Also my daughter, who lives in the home, observed his worker urinating on the lawn where my granddaughter plays.
He said that he would take care of my lawn and fertilize it. I don't think that he did.  He wasn't punctual; always had an excuse for not showing up, especially during the winter months.
I checked other lawn services around and they are way cheaper than Mr. Valdez and I felt that I was being taken advantage of so I terminated his services today.  Most services are based on how many times they cut the lawn and not that they have to make their money in the winter by taking advantage of their customers.
I plan on complaining to the Better Business Bureau. 
This guy is a shyster.  BEWARE.

I was initially a little concerned by how late Mr. Valdez was stopping by on Friday. He introduced himself, shook my hand, and we discussed what I needed in regards to landscape and lawn service. He seemed a little disappointed that I did not need full on monthly maintenance and though he is looking for another "client," he still agreed to help me out on an a la carte basis.  I was very impressed with his agreeing to assist me as needed.  At the same time, before he left, he agreed to apply some Weed N Feed to my lawn.  Once complete, he gave me his card, with a smile, and told me to call him the next time I needed help.  He does this as a side business, but it shows that he is dedicated to it.  I will be calling him back.
UPDATE!
However, after 2 months of calling and trying to schedule a la carte services with Mr. Valdez, he admitted to me that he just cannot fit me into his schedule unless I am a regular client. I explained to him that I've been trying to get him to come back so that I could experience his technical capabilities first hand before agreeing to regular work.  He said I just had to take his word. We agreed to not continue to pursue working together.  I was extremely disappointed that Mr. Valdez was not more upfront, back in January, that the only reason he was agreeing was so that if he gave me the run around enough, maybe I'd sign up.  If you hire a contractor without a past performance review and/or technical demonstration, then he is the right one for you. I, on the other hand, need to be certain I am entering into a mutually beneficial arrangement, and unless I personally know someone, I cannot just take their word.

Originally, I called Mr. Valdez to just check out my yard. After I spoke with him about the care of the lawn, I asked if he had time to cut it. He did. However, I failed to mention that I wanted the clippings bagged because of the sand spurs. When I mentioned this to him, he came back the next day, went over the lawn with a bagging mower AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. He also fertilized the lawn for a very honest price. I hired him to take care of the lawn on a monthly basis. I believe that Mr. Valdez is an honest provider and a person who want to make sure you are satisfied with his work. Willing to go the extra mile to see that you are pleased.

Called the service for a bid descibing what was needed. Provider answered without mention of service as if a private # -He did promise to come by within 2 days to see the property to provide the bid but never called back. South Texas maybe manana service @ it's best!

Good experience and I would use Mr Green again

He is very prompt. I liked everything, but the quote was just little bit too high so we are going ahead and getting another quote because he is our first quote so I didn't feel that we should go with the first one he is still possibly in the running and I really liked him. He was very nice and friendly and prompt and professional.
