After being paid for the entire project, Hunt ran off with my money and did not respond to communication, which included a certified letter. He did not finish the job he was paid to do, which included completing the entire interior of the apartment including the kitchen, bathroom, and other rooms. The work he did, especially in the kitchen, is mostly a redo. He didn't finish installing the cabinets and the tiles he installed were unevenly set and improperly aligned. This is surprising since it was a very small kitchen and an amateur with a moderate level of experience would have done a better job. As is obvious, he left the kitchen and other rooms unfinished. After he walked off the job, I measured the wall insulation he installed and found that he misrepresented the thickness of it in an email he had sent. Hunt McKee is the epitome of why you should never pay a contractor for work he did not yet complete. Hunt was very pushy and kept assuring me he was "almost finished" and would be done very soon so I should go ahead and pay him. Yet after being paid for the entire job, he came a few times to do minor work and then vanished. The times he was there he slacked off by talking on the phone and not doing any substantial amount of work. On one occasion, while I was present, he came in his flip flops and attempted to build some shelves in a closet he was paid to complete but never finished that closet because he had to take a pressing personal call which involved meeting someone at a restaurant. I was speaking to him about the project when he felt compelled to take that very important call in the middle of our conversation and then take off. As they say, pictures are worth a thousand words.
