FRED'S LAWNMOWER REPAIRS

Said he fixed the carburetor and gave the lawn mower a tune up.  He apparently replaced my good fuel tank with a bad one that leaked because I had no leaks when I took the unit to him.  Had to have the fuel tank replaced and after all that the lawn mower wouldn't run.  He charged too much and took way too long and was very rude.

Fred took in my vintage Lawnboy mower, the aluminum deck model, highly valued when running well, and assured me he could fix it.  Weeks went by and I called to see how they were doing.  I was told they were just getting to it.  Another week, no contact.  I called again.  Again I was told they were getting to it.  Another week went by and I called again.  Then Fred starting complaining about the difficulty of getting parts for old Lawnboy mowers and said he didn't like that I was calling to check on it so much.  He said it was taken apart but not fixed.  He offered to let me come pick it up but it would be in pieces in a box.  Finally, he offered me $25 for my lawn mower.  I have a shoulder injury so I can't lift anything of any real weight.  I had paid a delivery company to take the mower over to Fred.  Not wanting to pay the delivery fee to go somewhere else, and not knowing if the second repair shop would be able to do anything with the mower in the condition it would be given back to me,  I just took the $25 that Fred offered for the mower.  Then I found out that Fred has some old lawnboy for sale.  I wished him the best of luck.  If you go to Fred's Lawnmower Shop, I wish you the best of luck, too.  He did work for me in the past and it was good.  This time was terribly disappointing.

This was the second item I had took him.  Last time he took to long but promised me that he would put it on his priority list and finish it in 2 weeks and did not. The receptionist was very rude and told me to pick it up if I did not want to wait any longer.  He did not charge me for the second item and did not finish services on it but wasted 2 weeks of my time and time is money.
