There was some really strong rain during the rainstorm where I noticed that some of the shingles from the roof were in the gutter and some on the driveway and during this time my husband was out of the country and I was having a hard time trying to get somebody to come out to have a look at it. However this guy said he would come out the next day which he did. He had a very strong Spanish accent but spoke good English. When he came out he next day he brought a ladder and another guy and got up on the roof where he noticed that I had some hail damage as well. He said that as a result of this I would have to get my whole roof repaired. Since I was in the middle of some other remodeling work I told him I could not afford to replace my whole roof so he just checked out some loose places and places where ridge gaps were missing and nailed everything down as well as replaced missing shingles. He completed the job within two to three hours after which I wrote him a check and the job had been done. He was very nice.

The work was excellant. The job was done exceptionally well. Soft spots and rotted spots were repaired. Daily job performance was excellant. They showed up on time and were extremely competent in their work and work ethics. Mr Melo, the owner, was on-site daily and stayed in constant contact with me during the whole process. He pointed out problem areas and advised the best way to handle each situation. The previous roofers from 10 years before, had left a great deal to be desired. Shortage of nails, entire plywood sections not nailed down. Holes not repaired etc. etc. Mr Melo mad e sure that every detail was corrected and repaired. He added an additional 8 roof vents, sealed and calked all vents, used Galvanized nails rather than plated nails. Used 6 nails per shingle rather than the required 4 nails per shingle. He renailed all the plywood sheeting with nails because the previous roofer had used staples instead of nails and had missed the rafters on over 40% of the entire roof. The only thing holding the roof down all these years was the weight of the shingls.

His finished job was beyond my expectations. They cleaned up the entire perimeter of the house each day before leaving work. They spread tarps over all the bushes and plants and were very careful about leaving any nails or trash after each work day. Their final ceanup was exceptional. They used a magnet to catch any stray nails that may have gone into the lawn or drivewar.
Mr. Melo completed the job at his bid which, I might add, was several thousand dollars less than the 5 other bids I received. He came highly recommended to me by a relative and I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I am certainly glad I did. I would highly recommend E G Roofing to anyone.
