Rey, was very professional. He explained what needed replacing and also gave me and my wife suggestions on how to keep the washer working efficiently.

He found the problem right away.  Told me what had happened, why it happened, and what needed to be done to fix the problem.  Professional and knowledgeable with an explanation that a lay person could understand.  I recommend highly.  I will call him again when the need arises.

My oven was not igniting the gas when the power button was pressed. He came in and within minutes had it figured out and took about 20 minutes to fix the problem.

In my experience, Discount Appliance has been extremely unreliable and charged me for a service that he did not finish.  He also added an extra $20 to the charge so that I would not have to pay him again for another service charge when he "came back the next day".  He never came back and was 4 hours late to the first appointment.   I called him at the very end of the year and asked for a refund again after waiting almost 6 months.  He said he bring it by on 1/5/15 and never delivered it.  He will not answer my calls now and never finished the job.  Every time I called him, he told me he was with other customers, even though I specifically tried to schedule times that would work for both his and my schedule.  I am now pursuing a full refund through Angie's List's Complaint Resolution Process.

He was very professional, promptly arriving as promised. In addition to replacing the ice maker, he gave me some tips on cleaning the gaskets and even noticed that there was some residual plastic that was under the edge of the door handles from the original packaging.  He retrieved a tool to remove the handle and removed the plastic. I will definitely use Discount Appliance again should I have any other appliance issues. I was very pleased and would recommend his company to anyone needing appliance repairs.

I called Tuesday afternoon for repair on my dryer that wouldn't start. We set an appointment for Wednesday between 12:00 and 1:00. I received a confirmation call at 10:00 Wednesday morning, and at 11:58 the repairman was ready to work.
He took his time diagnosing the problem, and explained his thought process with me. He called the owner of the company to get a second opinion of his diagnosis before proceeding. As it turns out, the timer had gone bad and needed to be replaced. Diagnosis took 45 minutes.
The repairman left to purchase the timer and came back promptly to install it. He left everything neat and gave a 2 month warranty. Dryer works wonderfully.

The coil worked for about two months but then started giving off toxic fumes. I called Ray at Discount Appliance back. He came out and said I needed to get an entirely new oven, which I did purchase. The coil was under warranty so we asked for a refund of the coil cost. Ray instead promised that he would fix any future appliance issue for the $147.22 price. Just this past month, February 2017, my dryer needed checking because it wasn't drying properly. I called Ray to come and fix it using the $147.22 credit from the oven coil issue. At least five different times Ray was a no call, no show for agreed upon appointments. I therefore updated this Angie's List review to an F grade on 2/21/17. Ray called the next day and fixed the dryer on 2/24/17 and applied the $147.22 credit. I will not use Ray again because he kept us constantly in term oil about punctuality and showing up. When he was here, he knew what he is doing and did good work.

My dish washer quit working and began flashing a blinking light that said I needed to have it serviced.  I called Discount Appliance and Ray came over the same day. He said it was the heating element but that there wasn't a replacement part in stock and it would need to be ordered.  I called once or twice after that inquiring about the progress of when he would be back to fix it, but my call wasn't answered.  Finally, a week later he came back to get it fixed.  Once he got here, the did a great job and the part was replaced. He had to pull the dish washer out from under the counter, and it leaked some water but he cleaned up the mess and so it wasn't a problem.  He was very friendly and nice and very knowledgeable about the dish washer and did a great job and the dish washer works fine.

I chose Discount Appliance Repair based on reviews and recommendations from others on Angie's List.  I wrote a message and it was forwarded to Rey Galvan.  Within 15 minutes of sending message I received a call from Rey.  He said he could come by our house within an hour.  He arrived within time he stated, pulled the refrigerator away from the wall and analyzed the problem.  He stated that we needed new and stronger tubing to replace the plastic tubing we had and we needed a valve to be replaced in order for the entire ice tray to be filled with water so we could have full size cubes.  He left to go and get needed parts and returned within a brief period of time, quickly made the repairs, explained our one year warranty on parts and put the refrigerator back in place.  He was very professional, quick in his ability to analyze our problem, rapidly made the repairs and was very reasonable.  Based on our experience, I would highly recommend Discount Appliance Repair.

Rey fit me in with short notice to fix a broken dryer. He repaired the dryer and guaranteed it for one year. Rey arrived quickly and was very professional and friendly. I will definitely call Rey again the next time one of my appliances has trouble.

Rey didn't have the part with him but quickly went and got it. The istallation only tooks a few minutes. I have no problem calling him to fix any of my appliances.

Once the part arrived he installed it right away.  Everythings works fine.  Very professional.

He was able to diagnose and fix the main issue within about 20 minutes. He also mentioned another issue that the fridge might have and gave me the signs, symptoms, and solutions to that problem. Sure enough, after he left, the fridge showed those signs and I knew exactly what to do because he left me with good info (instead of me having to call him back out and take another look at it).  I'm grateful that he was willing to take the time and share his expertise to save me some time and money in the future.

He took off the top of my washing machine and the cover on my dispenser drawer. He cleaned and put back the detergent, fabric softener, and bleach dispensers. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything he was doing. I will use him again for any future appliance repair needs.

I left a message on Angie's List for this provider. I was contacted within a few hours to set a Saturday appointment. Despite setting the appointment on Friday, I was able to grab the first slot on Saturday. I was contacted shortly before my appointment time to confirm. The team showed up on time and prepared to diagnose the problem.
We went to the kitchen to test the oven. I thought the heating element had gone out, but was told that the breaker wasn't providing enough electricity to heat the element. A reset of the breaker confirmed this.
I was advised of the price of the breaker ($80) and the $65 fee to put the breaker in. I agreed to the price and the team set out to purchase the breaker. They came back within 30 minutes and handed me the receipt for the breaker. The receipt confirmed the cost they told me. Within ten minutes the breaker was in, the oven worked, and the final cost was within 71 cents of the verbal estimate.
Very polite and professional team. Communication was excellent and they made my wife feel at ease with the process.
I am very pleased with the work and would highly recommend them to my friends and family. I will definitely use them again, should the need arise.

dishwasher repair. part had to be ordered. the work itself was done fine, but the responsiveness was terrible. never on time even though I made a specific appointment and I never received calls to say they would be late. Initial service call was over 2 hours late. Appt was for 10am when 10:30 rolled around and no word, I called and was told would be at my home within the hour. An hour later I called and was told was just leaving a job. Finally arrived almost 3 hours after appt time. Then had to order part which resulted in the same scenario to find out that part had arrived and to keep a fire lit under them to actually come and install it. I chose this company because of all the positive reports on Angie's List. Sorry to say I did not have the same positive experience.

Made an appointment with Rey to come check on our gas stove that was not lighting properly. He called ahead of time to let me know that he was running a little late. He arrived soon after at approximately the time he estimated in his phone call, which I appreciated very much. He and his assistant proceeded to check out the gas stove to see why the oven was giving us difficulty turning on. He gave us a free estimate on the repair and we chose to have the ignitor replaced which Rey was able to do on the spot. We were also given a one-year warranty on parts.

They delivered on time. Gave me the best value. I shopped around and could not find a better price. They came when they said they would and delivered and installed.
