"(removed member name), Bodine-Scott has been committed to providing our customers with excellent customer service for more than 50 years! We pride ourselves in taking care of our customers and believe that we have provided you with outstanding service for 10 years. Unfortunately, at the time you called in to our office, we were training a new dispatcher and she did not know that she had some flexibility when dealing with customers. Our company policy is that if we need to come back to your house within 30 days, and the issue is the same as before, we will waive the service charge, as we have done with you in the past. On May 7, 2012, we ran a service call to your address. At that time, we recommended you replace the liquid line drier and asked you to call us if you had any more problems. On May 21, 2012, you called back and stated you were having problems again. Again we advised replacing the liquid line drier. We did waive the service charge at that time. If, within the 30 days, the issue is a different one, the customer will be charged the service fee. We do apologize if there was any miscommunication. We have trained the new dispatcher on this procedure and will diligently work to assure that this communicated to all future trainees. I have researched your concerns regarding the maintenance contract issues and you are correct in that we have only been out to your home once. We would be more than happy to schedule the second inspection at your convenience. Please let us know when you would like that to be done. "Bodine-Scott Air Conditioning strives diligently to provide our customers with outstanding customer service and quality products. I have researched your concerns and have made the following discoveries. When our technician, who is a NATE certified technician with 9 years experience, arrived, you told him that your system was not cooling. At that time, he inspected the indoor unit and found that the issue was not with the indoor unit. He then proceeded to inspect the condensing unit outside. As soon as he looked at it, he noted that the fan blade had broken off of the unit and had lacerated the U bends and had punctured the coil. You then asked the technician to put Freon into the unit. The technician notified you that EPA regulations do not allow charging a unit with Freon when there is a leak because the Freon would leak out into the environment. He also noted that your current system is 16 years old. At that time, the technician advised you that because of the age and condition of the equipment, and the need for major repairs, it might be best to replace the system."
