I had been told by Wendland One Hour A/C the blower circuit board was defective and evaporator coil was leaking refrigerant and both needed to be replaced at a cost of $2,780.00. And, that spending that much money on a 10 year old system on the island was just a waste of money. Their cost for a new system would be between $6,000.00 and $13,000.00 depending on the features I wanted.  I had been a loyal Wendland customer for 10 years on 2 residences with yearly maintenance agreements.  Due to the cost of replacing an entire system, I decided to call Associated HVAC at the recommendation of an architect friend of mine.  Associated inspected our system finding a burned wire on the blower circuit board. They found no evidence of a leak in the evaporator coil. Associated repaired the burned wire and now my A/C is blowing cold air. Also, due to the fact that my system is 10 years old and I am on an island canal, I know I will need to replace my system in the near future. Associated HVAC will be the company I call when I need a new system.
