They were absolutely fantastic. They did excellent customer service, excellent work and gave fair pricing. Everything about it was awesome. The re-wiring was perfect.
We are definitely happy customers and will call David again when the need arises.
I joined Angie's List so I could find a recommendation.
I selected After Shock because he had 38 reviews for projects within a couple of miles of my house.
I called David. He answered the phone. He schedule me for approximately 10 days out. He came out the day before (on the 11th) to meet with me, confirm price, and confirm schedule.
He showed up on the morning of March 12th and had the project finished within a couple of hours. Afterwards he had his helpers chase all of the circuits, which saved me a ton of time.
I paid him on the spot.
Great guy. Great work. I would use him again and I will tell anyone on the Island that needs an electrician to call David.
UPDATE: First, I know nothing about electric codes and doubt that many do who are not electricians. Therefore I thought AfterShocks work was done correctly. This work was done approximately one year ago. In September 2014 I had a in-ground pool installed. Needless to say this is a very big job. The pool company was excellent and I went with their electrical contractor to install the pool electricity for pumps, lights, ect. The electrical contractor stated that the work that After Shock performed would not pass inspection when the city inspector comes to inspect the pool work and could possibly delay the rest of the pool construction.
Here is a list of items that were not done correctly:
1. No electrical permit was ever filed, thus no inspection.
2. 3/4 inch conduit was run into the meter can, breaking the AEP seal.
3. Hot tub wires run thru main sub feed 2and quot; nipple from meter to panel.
4. Hot tub required 50a circuit which he installed, however used #8 wire and it should have been #6. #8 is only rated for 40amp breaker.
As a result, the new electrician had to correct the above problems prior to city inspection, especially the wires that were running directly into the meter can and into the panel box. This cost me an additional $400.00
The wires from the new panel to the hot tub still need to be replaced with #6 wire and replace the 50amp breaker.
We had questions for David about additional work that we are considering. He patiently answered all our questions, explained what could be done, and offered various options. He also suggested a local store where we could select products that would work for our situation.
Overall it was a very pleasant experience and we will definitely call him when we are ready to start the other projects.
