Affordable Movers

Pricing and timing that they charged were scam. We were planning to use them the rest of the year but I think we have to fight another company.

When hiring Johnny beware. I had originally hired another company, but they had a last minute major emergency so they referred us to these guys. I called Johnny and asked him his price he said $85/hr 3 men. I thought it was a great deal and expected to pay between $450-$600 since I packed my entire house and boxes were ready to move. 3 bedroom, smaller furniture, with only 2 us living there no kids. Well Johnny, the owner, said they also had no minimum hour charges or other fees as some other movers do. He split my home in half did one half one day and one the other. The first day he took 5 hours which should have been $425+ tax. He ended up charging $595. Claimed he had minimums now and some other fees he said he didn’t have previously. I called him out on it still not adding up and said he’d correct it the next day. Well. The next day he only took 3 hours and charged for 4 and didn’t correct anything. I paid almost a grand for a move that was budgeted at max $600. Even Two Men and A Truck and some other movers who charge more than him had quoted me much less than him. All this to move a packed house to a storage unit. We also have white furniture and he did not wrap any of it except my sofa, fridge, and one huge glass. All my white furniture was damaged and he dented my dryer. He damaged a water line at the house and I had to get it fixed. He tried to have me hire his cousin to fix it. Uh no. He kept asking me the worth of homes in the neighborhood. I guess if he sees it’s a nice place he charges more. I definitely felt very much scammed. Don’t let him trick you with his “personality” he’s a joke.

Scheduled our move for 4:00. Three bedroom two bath house. They did not show up until 5:30. They loaded up one load. The were a bit rough with our stuff. The did wrap an antique cabinet in saran wrap so the door would not come open. When it came time for the next load they stated that the light in their truck didn't work so the could not do another load and it was getting dark. They wanted to come back and finish the next day. My husband told them he was starting nights and would be sleeping. He rigged up a work light for them and told them if they would just finish what need to come upstairs (stilt house) they could finish the rest the next day. I spoke with them the next day and they stated they had a move booked in the morning but would finish us up after that. I receive a call they they would be there in 1 hour. I went to the old house and waited 4 hours and they didn't show. They finally sent a competitor over to finish the job that they started and didn't finish. As we started setting up house we found a lot of damaged and broken possessions..

Overall I wasn't happy with the services provided. I felt they were unprofessional and lazy.

They were not professional. They were pretty carelessness on how they loaded the truck. They made a big gash in the front door while they were moving the furniture in. They scratched the top of a coffee table pretty badly. The price was reasonable if they had performed professional work.

I spent about $400 or $450 for their services. They worked very fast and they got it done in a good amount of time. The one thing I didn’t like is that they had some guys come over after they started, but they didn’t have the directions. They also didn’t fill them in on the things that I wanted and there were also some things that were broken. It wasn’t anything valuable. I had to stop them once and I told them not to move it until it was wrapped. The drawers were falling out. The owner called me and apologized. They didn’t tell me that they had to have cash. When I got ready to leave, I was going to write them a check, but they said that they couldn’t take a check and wanted cash. So, they had to wait since I had to go to the bank. Their price was good though. I think I would use them again, but I would make sure that everybody knows all the instructions.

The job went well, but some of the things broke while moving.  They were very nice and punctual.

they showed up exactly on time, were pleasant to deal with and got the job done.

They were punctual and conscientious about the work. They worked quickly and efficiently. They just got the job done. They carefully wrapped all fragile items and paid close attention to the care of my belongings. They listened to all my requests. I tipped them well because the fee was so nominal.
