1st Choice Remodeling & Construction

I was initially quoted 3 weeks for the project and it took 2 months. His crew didn't show the respect I thought they should towards my property. things were thrown away that shouldn't be. They were extremely messy and trashed my brand new hose and water nossle. Overall, the work wasn't bad, it just wasn't spectacular. I paid him today with the promise that he just had to go back for one last trip to clear out the rest of his tools and caulk around the new shower in the master bathroom and install a door handle and that still isn't done. He's holding up my floor installation for the 2nd time. He tells me something is going to happen and then it doesn't. I asked him at the beginning to be truthful on his timeline for the project because I'd heard horror stories about contractors and he still grossly under quoted the time frame on the project. He quoted me a price and then had almost $1800 worth of "extra's" at the end of the project. If you have a small project, then he could probably do a good job, but this was a big project and I think too much for his crew who didn't really specialize in anything particular. Tile work is mediocre. He always made it seem like it was my fault he was behind or couldn't get something done. I'm not sure if all contractors are like this as this is my first foray in remodeling, but it was not a pleasant experience with this company.
