We hired him to do a variety of tasks around the house, including changing out all light switches and plugs from the older 80s cream color to pure white. One circuit was done incorrectly, and also a ceiling fan that was supposed to be installed with an extension arm was installed without the arm. We asked him to come back out to correct the work that was done incorrectly, and his response was just to say that the wiring was NOT wrong and to never call him again. We’ve lived in this house 20 years I know what switches are supposed to control what, and after their work some lights weren’t working at all, and one light wasn’t tied to any switch and couldn’t be turned off. YOU CAN’T CREATE WORK FOR YOURSELF BY DOING IT WRONG THEN CHARGING TO COME BACK OUT TO FIX IT!! That’s getting paid twice for the same work. Own your mistakes and correct what was done wrong, but he said “never call again”. Rude and unprofessional.

Neal Lawton focuses on quality of work and approaches solutions in a collaborative manner with his clients. He has worked on various projects in the past and is currently undertaking a major project to refresh and uplift my home which is now 20 years old. NEAL is a go to guy who is reliable and reasonably priced.

Neal was on time and installed the flooring in a very professional manner. I’ve used Neal twice before for flooring installs and each time his floors exceed my expectations. You won’t be disappointed if you hire Neal.

Neal Lawton did a fantastic job. All of my neighbors are very impressed at how structurally solid, how professional and how good it looks. After I put the sliding glass door in leading to the balcony deck, Neal came out after and finished up matching the trimming and flashing to the sliding glass door. I'll hire Neal again this year for my carport and restain my fence.

Great. Since we were unsure of the best placement of the bars, we relied on Neal's knowledge and experience to make the shower safe to get in, be in, and get out of. He looked at various options, including the future use of a shower seat, and placed two short and one long bar in perfect places. He cleaned up after the job, had us inspect his work, and was very pleasant and upbeat to work with. We will definitely call on him in the future for remodeling needs.

Hired Lawton for the second time to come through the house and clean up after a previous contractor. The price was excellent with high quality work. They take pride in their product and the owner is onsite each day. The initial estimate included touching up the paint where the previous contractor did not have crisp lines and uneven distribution. When they began touching it up they noticed the previous contractor was not mixing paint thoroughly so the color gradient was changing throughout the walls. They did not change the estimate, but ended up repainting the entire interior of the home because "we want the finished product to look professional". Highly recommend.

Neil and Lawton Construction were amazing. He was extremely responsive and finished by the deadline we set. We continually added to his "to do" list, and he still made the deadline. The work was excellent for the price, and we would certainly use him again. His crew was thorough and efficient. He was able to do all kinds of work and left the house clean and orderly every day. I really appreciated his communication and willingness to be at the job site personally everyday. He also went out of his way to find the hardwood we needed to repair part of the floor. I am very impressed he was able the complete all the work in two weeks and stick to our original time line!

Neal and his team were great!  They came when they said they would come and did what they said they would do! extremely professional, will definitely use them again!

The owner came for the estimate and had a presence through the entire project. The house was covered in dust from the previous contractor sawing inside, but we were never able to even locate the spot outside of the house where Lawton Construction was cutting. Their prep of the area made the house cleaner than the previous contractor's "in-progress" phase. Lawton Construction was able to salvage the large majority of wood and it looks great. Project finished on time and on budget with very competitive pricing. Will be hiring again.

After the final was done, there was a lot of little punch list items and they refused to come out and do those even though they promised to complete punch list and they did not. So, I am having to things like install strike plates on the doors and things like that. They didn't complete the job. There was just little nit picky things left over. The minute I gave them their last check, they wouldn't come back.

Neal was fantastic to work with and I cannot say enough great things about him, his quality of work, and his fair prices! I would absolutely recommend him to anyone who is is looking for a quality, reasonable, and trustworthy contractor. Neal was very responsive to my initial request for a quote and was out at the house within a couple days to review the work in person. After a day he had a quote back to me which was very fair for the amount of labor we were asking for. Within a few days he was able to begin the work in which he had a crew work on every day until completion. The quality of his work was spot on as he matched the existing texture of the house exactly. The two new walls that he framed, hung drywall and re-textured looked like they were originally intended to be there. Above and beyond - Neal was more than willing spend time talking to my wife and I and give us renovation tips for many other projects we were tackling on our own. Neal also went above and beyond that when one day after a significant rainstorm, water appeared coming up from the carpet in our living room. He called me to let me know about it, and before I could make it back to the house, he had removed the carpet (which he knew we were replacing) and come up with a few potential solutions that I could do on my own to fix the problem. Amazing. Bottom line - I plan to use Neal again on any future projects/renovations and would highly recommend him to anybody.

We are SO pleased with the work done on our floors and the front of our home. Neal and his crew were very professional and quick. They removed some bad wood from the front part of our roof. They replaced it and painted it. The biggest job was removing wood flooring that was recently installed and was damaged. The previous installer hit a water line when they were almost finished installing the base boards. They left and never came back. Neal Lawton and his crew came in and in one day had everything done! I absolutely love my wood floors! I will call him again to work on other floors and to paint outside of home!

They were able to come by really quick, which I appreciated due to our construction timeline. Floor leveling was done well. However, they failed at floating the floor (getting rid of low dips in the concrete) in preparation for hardwood. The mixture they poured was extremely watery concrete, they did not lay down any bonding material, and there were pools of watery substance everywhere that dried into fine powder and not hardened concrete. Owner Neal kept trying to upsell me, have him install our floors himself with a 1 year guarantee, instead of actually answering my questions about the failed float. Promised to come by to double check the float job, never showed up, stopped responding to emails.

I had an excellent experience working with Neal and would use him again without hesitation. He is a high energy, hard working guy with a reliable crew. Has a good eye for detail and seems to know how to fix anything. He did a fantastic job on my bamboo laminate floors and had the old house looking like new. My bathrooms are unrecognizable and beautiful.

I felt like he was not as good as what review stated when he started the job. That is why I did not leave review until now. First of all, very cheap job. popcorn ceiling removal is OK but the debris can be found anywhere after the job. Glue down the floor is where the issue is. So many hollow spots we found after we moved in. Floors on stairs are absolutely cheap job and we have 2 floors posed up and 8 floors loose and squeaking. We asked him to fix it since he said 1 year warranty. But guess what, he said he never had this issue in his 25 years experience and not even want to come back to take a look at what happens. Front door paint is also awful. So many bubbles after 2 days!

He is also not so honest. He agreed to add fixing countertop crack to the contract but he finally found he cannot fix and asked us to call countertop company to fix it at our own expense. When we asked why he said we did not pay anything to fix countertop. 

Other than that, he never communicate what he is going to do and finally you will find what he did is actually what you want. Never answer phone calls. The only way to find him is to leave message and wish he call you back. 

Anyway, we have to drill holes on floors to fix posed up floors by ourselves and he never reply message or come back to do whatever he promised in the warranty.

Neal and his crew did a great job helping us get our house in tip-top shape to prepare if for sale.
We were thrilled with the repair job they did on our hardwood flooring.  The crew was very thorough and detail oriented, and everything turned out great.
Neal was helpful, professional, and friendly.  He suggested other ideas for making our house looks it's best.
My wife and I typically dislike dealing with contractors... but Neal was a pleasure to work with, and we'd gladly call him again for our next project.

It went great.  All the work was done in a professional experience, with on-site participation by the owner.  Deadlines were met. The quality of the work was superb.  Mr. Lawton took special care to see that all my concerns were satisfied.  He went out of his way to accommodate me expectations.  His prices were totally reasonable.  I highly recommend this firm.

Arranged with Neal to do the work with his crew.  The first day was spent removing existing flooring as well as preparing the hallway for paint. Next couple days the paint was completed and flooring was installed.  All work was completed within 1 week as estimated.
I am satisfied with the work that was done and would use Lawton again for future work.
