Quality First Construction

The renovation went well.  From our first meeting, I knew that I wanted Darrin to do this reno.  As a person who likes to do stuff myself, and from a family of DIYers , it was important to have a contractor who would work WITH me, not just FOR me.   He understood what I wanted and had some great ideas, but didn't try to push them over my desires.  He consistently asked for input on whether things were looking as we (Mom and I) had expected and was amiable to changes midstream.  He also was extremely patient with explaining how and why he was doing things.  We ran over on time, but part of that was my fault for throwing in the living room floor mid way into the renovation.  The guys (Darrin and his crew of 2) were meticulous in cleaning up after themselves and were exceedingly respectful of the property and Mom and I.  They are hard workers and want it to be perfect and there were several instances where they redid things because they were not satisfied with how it looked.   We also went a bit over budget, but that was due to my choices and additions and Darrin worked hard to keep costs as close to his original bid as possible.  I am thrilled with my new kitchen, it is now functional and a dream to cook in.  I will have him back to do future renovation projects that I am unable to do myself.

Quality First Construction executed the work between tenants with excellent results.  After my property manager chose new tile (because the old tile could not be matched exactly), Quality First did the removal and installation quickly to prepare for a future tenant.  The old tile was a solid beige color and a second color was chosen to give the floor a two-tone effect.  Quality First went the extra mile to make the tile work more visually appealing by not squaring it up exactly with the old tile, but installing the new color at a 45 degree angle in the middle of the rooms with the old color as a border.  It looks great and the price was significantly lower from the other bids that I received from places like The House of Floors.  I was extremely happy with their work and would recommend them without reservations.
