I am a homeowner of one of D.R. Horton?s condominiums in a community called ?The Grande at Canal Pointe?, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. There is an issue that 112 homeowners are having regarding the decks built on these condominiums. There is an Engineer?s report describing the code issues and how these decks are unsafe for use. The community?s Homeowners Association is in the process of suing D.R. Horton due to no response by the company?s contacts. The Delaware?s Governor?s office, Attorney General?s office and the Sussex County?s Code Enforcement office have been sent packets of information regarding this issue. The Sussex County Code Enforcement Office is in the process of pulling the builder?s records from the archives to review the details on how these cantilever decks were to be built. After their inspection, they clearly determined that these decks were not build up to code. So far this company has not held up to their middion of ?Today, D.R. Horton continues to demonstrate its leadership in residential development through design innovation, superior craftsmanship, and responsiveness to the needs of its customers.? (D.R.
