James found the issue quickly. The logs were not set far enough back in the fireplace. He reset the logs and fixed the problem. James was very prompt to respond to our service request.

After saying that it would be fairly easy to install and that it would also be easy to get the chimney pipe etc to complete the job, he never came back to me.  I called back a couple of weeks later to ask what was going on he said he was waiting on a quote. Several weeks went by - I left a number of messages with his secretary but have never received a call back.  Three months have now passed and this experience has been a total waste of time.

He has been doing work for us for 5 years.   He is really wonderful.  He completed a chimney report and found two areas of mildew in the vents.

This particular job we saw moisture on the brick inside the house so we called James to check it out.  Actual problem was roofing related.  He crawled inside the attic and also checked on top of the roof to make sure he advised us on everything.  This was a free service call for estimate only and he discovered quite a few big holes in the brick mortar on the chiminey so I asked him to take care of it.  He left to get supplies and returned within the hour.  Spent extra time filling other holes around my house that I knew of at no extra charge.  That's the kind of guy he is and the service we always get from James.

They were very punctual and they called before they came which is a major plus. My house was spotless when they left and the chimney works much better.

Turned up an hour ahead of time after phoning to confirm ok. Did the visual inspection (actually missed something a previous chimney inspection had noted). Job seemed very thorough and the chimney was left in pristine condition and ready for the first fire of the season. Put down drop cloths and cleaned up very well.

The gentleman that they sent out was very pleasant and tried to be as quiet as he could. They were highly recommended to me. The price seemed fair, but I don't remember the exact price.
