McCaffety Electric Co Inc

They came to my home to give me an estimate, I was told over the phone that it would be free. After coming to my home they wanted to charge me 85 just to take a look and told me that it was a mistake. For this reason I did not end up using the provider. I'm very disappointed that they told me one thing over the phone and another in person.

When our electrical power line fell off the house and landed in the yard and driveway after a severe thunderstorm I called Entergy. They came and told me I was responsible for the repair and they would have to turn off the power to the house until it was done (this was a Saturday morning and the temperature was dropping rapidly. Before they did that I was able to get onto Angie's List and get the name of a local provider with 24 hour service -- McCaffety Electric. Dave, who was on call, arrived within two hours and quickly repaired the problem. However, we needed Entergy to come back out to the house to turn on the power again but they were not responding to calls after 5 hours. As we got into the evening, it was looking bad for us getting power for the weekend and the temperature was dropping and I was on call to the hospital. I called Dave and he managed to get Entergy out to the house within 30 minutes because of some local contacts he and his boss have.  We were very thankful and would recommend this provider anytime. They went the extra mile for us and we had our power back on by bedtime.

The electrician, Mark, arrived on time and did everything that we had requested. He was very professional and competent and performed the work in less time than the company quoted. We were very satisfied with the work that he did for us. In addition to being a good electrician, he's a very nice person.

They had to rewire my box because my house settled.

Mark arrived early. He checked the extensive parts list of the product that had arrived, and went right to work. Even though it was the first time he had installed this product, he said, "an electrician is an electrician!" And he surely was! The beauty of the Angle Power Strips is that they fit at a 45-degree angle beneath the upper cabinets against the wall, so there is no interruption in the backsplash that is to be installed. Mark worked steadily from the time he arrived, took a brief lunch and picked up an extra switch in white that he needed, and finished around about an hour after he returned back from lunch. He carefully saved all the sheetrock cutouts so they could be used in the sheetrock repair, (if needed), and told me he would be happy to work for us again, anytime. He's been a residential electrician for over 20 years. McCaffety has offices in Conroe, TX and in Huntsville, TX (that I know of). Mark is out of the office at 1610 N. Frazier in Conroe. I've had several electricians work for me during this remodel. All except two have been very disappointing. When I showed Mark the work, he explained that many of the larger companies do mostly commercial work (I'd been calling the larger companies), and that the electricians aren't necessarily used to doing residential jobs. There is a special designation and certification for residential specialists, and Mark is one of those. It surely shows!
