Contact by email and phone was prompt, professional courteous.  Ricardo, the owner of the company is very nice, and answered all questions. He asked me to email pictures, so he could do an email bid.  I emailed the pictures, and he responded same day.  I was especially pleased that he said the finished product would be as durable or more durable than the original seat.  He arrived at my home on time with all necessary tools, chemicals, and protective covers.
I watched as he cleaned the leather, sanded the rough leather, stained it several times, and applied a sealant.  Wow!  Fantastic.  Literally looked brand new!   As I watched, I learned about leather, and will definitely use a leather conditioner every 3 months as  he recommended.
In fact, I was so pleased, that I had him look at my leather chair, that was soiled by my scalp oil darkening the leather from maroon to almost black.  I asked  him if he would continue working and repair the chair for me.  He agreed, and we set the price for the chair.  He and I then found several smaller, less seriously soiled places, which he said he would treat as a courtesy.  I  hired him on the spot to repair the chair, and have already written the check to pay him.

I have a 20 year old leather sofa and love seat that the leather was worn down to the bare hide....Ricardo gave me an estimate from pics I sent him. He made an appointment and arrived right on time and made my sofa and love seat look like new. He has been doing this work for 20 years and knows what he is doing. He matched the leather dye perfectly and by the time he finished, not only did he do an amazing job, he is just an all around nice person. I would definitely use him again. Riccardo was the most competitive of four leather upholstery re-storal companies we rec'd quotes from.  He provided a reference from several years ago, and his web site had impressive pictures and additional references.  We had a few bumps along the way.  He did not come and see the sofa, but provided a firm quote based on pictures sent to him via email.  When he arrived to do the work, he immediately claimed he could not do the work at the price quoted.  Original quote was $375, and we agreed on a revised quote of $500.  Also, he was not able to complete the work the day he arrived since it was more extensive than he had thought.  We re-scheduled for another day, and the work was completed.  Riccardo communicated well via phone and email.

Ricardo was extremely responsive from the outset and asked for pictures to see if he could repair the leather seat in my car.  Ricardo was able to set an appointment in a timely manner and expertly matched the red leather seats of my car to make a perfect repair.  This is the first review I've made on Angie's List despite using several previous providers.  I highly recommend Ricardo for repairing leather seats!

I had a small tear in the left seat cushion of my leather recliner sofa. I contacted Protouch after performing a search on Google. The work that was done was poor and I had to have Ricardo come back a second time to try to correct the problems. Even then, I was left with a 'bubble' on the seat cushion. I thought I could live with the imperfection, but after awhile, the areas that were repaired were cracking and tearing again. I received a 1 year warranty on the service. Even though I wasn't happy with the original job, I didn't want to pay another service provider for work I had already paid for. I contacted Ricardo on a Monday and he said he would call me to set up an appt the next day. By Friday of that week, when I hadn't heard from him, I called again. Ricardo said he would be by that evening, but if he got held up on his last job, he would be there first thing Saturday morning. I never heard from him again. The workmanship is horrible and the customer service is even worse!
