I intentionally chose a locally owned and operated electrical company. As a small business, Welch Electrical apparently doesn't have full-time phone support for scheduling. Calls to the company go directly to the owner's cell phone. It was several hours before I got a return call a couple of times. That was okay for the work I wanted done, but could be a problem if there was an urgent issue.
Owner Jim Welch and two electricians arrived as scheduled and reviewed the work order. One project was installing accent lighting for an existing built-in bookcase. The electrician went into the attic to check his access to that area and found it was blocked by the air conditioning unit. They weren't able to install the lights as I had hoped.
I appreciate them telling me upfront they couldn't install the lights as planned. I would have liked them to propose an alternative, although I said that project could wait until another time.
I also wanted some type of lighting at each entrance to the living room to alert guests that there is a 6-inch step down when they step into the living room. Mr. Welch suggested that I go to an electrical supply business to select what I wanted. Again, I would have preferred that he give me ideas that would work. However, I do recognize that Welch Electrical Contracting doesn't claim to provide lighting design services.
Overall, I was happy with their work and professionalism. The owner and all employees were competent, friendly, and trustworthy. I would hire them again for routine electrical work.

They do good work at a reasonable price. It is a small company that is locally owned.
