"The approximate cost of this customer's ticket was $11 as he received a 50% discount for an active police officer (not $35 as was stated.) Our facility may be "small," but the equipment is not at all limited. There is ample room to accommodate all our customers with all the necessary tools to wash and/or groom their dog. Our facility actually has top-of-the-line professional equipment - everything needed to bathe and groom a dog, including waterproof aprons. We did design our washtubs, but they were professionally constructed from 304 stainless steel. These washtubs are extremely sanitary with tub grates that allow the dog to be raised above the wastewater that drains underneath the grates, and allow the dog owner to wash from both sides of the washtub (rather than having to try to turn the dog around inside the tub.) The washtubs are at three different height levels, allowing the large dogs to walk into the tubs and the smaller dogs to be lifted into the tubs. All the elevated heights minimize the need to bend over as you would in your bathroom at home. Unfortunately, there is no way to wash a dog and guarantee the customer will not get wet and/or get hair on them. We do, however, instruct all customers as to how to keep the splashing to a minimum (lower water pressure and hold the dog when he tries to shake.) But German Shepherds are big dogs and will shake when they get wet! They also have long hair and that hair takes longer to dry than a short-haired dog. Our professional hair dryers are low-heat, high-velocity dryers. Using high heat to dry dog's hair causes their skin to dry out and can also cause their body to overheat. We try to encourage all our customers to take the time to dry their dog's hair before leaving, but it's the customer's decision as to how long they want to dry. We have every kind of brush needed for every breed of dog. Again, there's no way to brush a dog without getting dog hair on oneself (especially if one declines to wear a grooming apron.) That's the nature of the dog-washing business - wet and hairy. But it's still easier and faster to do it here than at home. And we clean up the mess when you're done! We are not pleased to find out that this customer had an unpleasant experience as it is our goal to provide every customer with superior customer service. It is hard to read a poor review like this, especially after being told directly by the customer at the time of his visit that he was happy with his experience. This review was made fourteen months after the customer visited our store. It would be wonderful if he would give us another opportunity to change his opinion of our facility. We have many customers with German Shepherds that leave here relatively dry with a dry dog in about an hour, so we are certain it can be done."
