We were referred to Cindy by a local clergy person, who had just bought a house with Cindy's help. Cindy and I corresponded via email and phone for over a month before my son and I were able to visit Texas. She responded to every e-mail and phone call, even before we met her in person, and continued to do so, even after the closing on both properties. She quickly caught on to our son and daughter-in-law's preferences, and she totally understood the needs of a family with young children.
What impressed me perhaps the most was that, in addition to being such a warm and wonderful person, Cindy knew the area and was very astute about the real estate market. Early in the process, she pointed out three houses that she thought were good values in a good neighborhood -- she said they were rare finds that would go quickly. We had not yet visited, so we were not in a position to make offers at that time, and by the time we visited 2 weeks later, those houses were under contract. Meanwhile, other properties that I had noticed on Trulia and other websites, sat unoccupied. Cindy was able to point out the liabilities in many properties that looked good in advertisements to someone who didnt know the area, thus saving us a lot of time and trouble.
In less than 10 days, my son had made an offer on a house in excellent condition, that was just right for his family, and it was accepted at a price that was a very good value. Cindy did a great job representing him in a complicated negotiation. In addition, my husband and I bought an investment property in the same town. As newcomers to the area, we could never have pulled this all off without Cindy's dedicated help. We learned that we could trust her judgment as well as the workmen whom she referred.
She clearly had our best interests at heart, negotiating on our behalf, honestly pointing out values and pitfalls, and visiting the properties repeatedly for weeks after we had left town, to make sure that all repairs had been made satisfactorily and that all details were in place before the final closings.
And on top of all this, she was a pleasure to be with, hour after hour, as we drove from property to property, in the heat and in the rain.
