SGM Pools & Spas Cleburne

Initial work was done in July of 2012. SGM Pools and Spas was hired to do some reinforcing, crack repair, replumbing, and resurfacing of an inground pool for $12,600. They seemed very responsible and professional at the time. They did most of the work in late July and early august, 2012, and on August 22, 2012, we paid them in full. They still needed to install a pool water leveler and finish some pool light wiring, which they promised to take care of as the pool was being filled. As the pool was still filling the surface of the pool showed areas where the new plaster was cracking and breaking off. The pool surface soon became covered with quarter to softball sized pits where the surface coating broke loose. SGM promised, in writing, to completely resurface the pool and complete the plumbing and wiring projects right away. Well, due to some inclement weather and scheduling conflicts the work was put on hold. They assured us that the work would be done in the spring when the weather warmed up again. We trusted them to remain professional and responsible, and waited until late March/early April to try to get them to come back and finish the project. After months of trying to get in touch with them, from March through May, and having a very difficult time getting them to return our calls, they finally came back to repair the pool July 21st. They drained the pool and spent a few hours sloppily spreading new plaster into the holes in the pool surface. The areas that were patched were a different color than the rest of the pool, in many cases the patch was not smooth, and in some places the new plaster sagged and dripped out of the holes. It looked terrible. I told them that I was not pleased and that they needed to resurface the whole thing as they wrote they would in the warranty agreement. That was the last I heard from them. They have not answered or returned my calls since then. I have had to hire another company to fix their terrible patch job and to completely resurface the pool, as well as finish the wiring and plumbing they were supposed to have done almost a year ago. My initial impression of SGM Pools was very favorable, however they really let me and my family down. I do not recommend them for any kind of pool or spa work. I don't trust them, and their warranty is worthless. They will not answer your calls once they have your money, and they do not honor their promises. Save yourself the headaches and go with someone else.
