I hired this person who was referred to me to replace a drive gate and concrete steps. We discussed what I wanted and I asked serval times if he would be able to complete the project. He said "yes" and gave me an estimate. My first red flag should have been the fact that he rescheduled twice to start the project. There were issues from the get-go. I was told it would take a day to complere. Well, three days later I was still waiting, and I had to call him several times to determine a date of when the project would be complete. After he said it was complete, I saw low quality wood (I specifically requested high quality cedar) had been used and what we discussed to do to make the drive gate secure had not been done, nor had it been sealed. Very apparent that he had no clue how to build a stable drive gate. After two weeks of calling him to find out when he wsa going to complete the job (secure the gate, seal it, and address the low quality wood), he came back. I pointed out the cracks in the wood of where the brackets were placed (a drill hole was not made first) and the fact that the 2x2 wood that was holding the fence together was cracked. I also pointed out the fence panels had strap marks on them which means they came from the bottom of the pile - low quality! He tried to talk me into "fixing" the fence by putting up additional 2x2 boards. In other words, a "quick fix". I did not agree and he knew I was not happy with good reason; even his worker was telling him what needed to be done. What was agreed upon is that he was going to replace both panels with the high quality wood I requested and put up a pole to make the gate more secure. He only replaced one panel which was not matched up with the other panel and left. The gate was only 2 months old when it started coming apart. I have left several messages for him but no calls were returned. I ended up buying materials and hiring someone to fix the gate. This is a company that does a quick job for a fast buck and doesn't care about customer service or the quality of work they do. NEVER use them again!
