William found the problem, roots and got that cleared, but then ran into the break in the line. He then called Allied Home Warranty since they were the people that contracted with him to get him out there. I will review Allied separately, but suffice it to say that they hung up on him once, were very rude, and refused to do anything else. All in all, he spent about an hour of his time trying to deal with them to get them to honor the contract, to no avail.
William then wrote up an estimate to do the repair work on the drain line. The estimate was very detailed, explaining exactly what needed to be done. In my case, the drain line is in the concrete slab of the house, and they would have to break a section of the slab in the garage and tunnel under the house to the break to get it fixed.
At this point, I'm now waiting for my homeowner's insurance to get their butt in gear and authorize the repair.
Update: Homeowner's Insurance required another estimate. The 2nd company found that the line wasn't broken, there was another plug further down the line. I'm going to give William the benefit of the doubt, and say that I don't think he intentionally gave me the wrong diagnosis of the problem. I think he just made a mistake due to not having a camera to check the line. Thankfully, the second company caught the misdiagnosis saving me thousands of dollars.
