First, I should say that Todd and Teresa are really nice people and they were nothing but courteous and responsive throughout this whole experience.  I bear them no ill will and wish them the very best with their business.  It's entirely possible this whole thing was just the result of a perfect storm that no one could have handled.  But I have to be honest, so here goes.
I initally engaged Waterloo to service my pool.  But right after I did so, I realized my filter was leaking really badly.  I asked them to try to repair it and was told the whole thing needed to be replaced.  After some fits and starts, I got an estimate for the repair and they agreed to do it.  However, when they showed up with the replacement filter, it was too large to fit where the old one was so a new one had to be ordered.  In the meantime, my pool was sitting in the heat with no filter and no recirculation.  Waterloo tried to keep the chemical levels right (or said they did) but by the time the new filter was installed, the pool was covered in algae.
We then had a saga that lasted nearly three months, with Waterloo trying to treat the algae and getting nowhere, and claiming they were scrubbing off the walls but not really appearing to do anything.  In addition to being unable to get the algae under control, Waterloo repeatedly told me that they needed to empty my pool and, at one point, that they needed to replaster it to the tune of $6,000.
I finally called in another pool company and they told me that there was absolutely no chlorine in the pool, no DE in the filter, and the plaster was fine.  They got the algae under control in two days.
This company gets great Angie's list reviews so for all I know, my situation was unique.  Their customer service and responsiveness are terrific, so I think they would be fine handling a normal service contract.  However, based only on my experience, it seems that serious problems may overwhelm them, in terms of manpower, or expertise, or both.

They seemed to do a good job for me last year so I went with them again.  They were one of the certified providers for the equipment that I have.  I would probably use them again.

I have used them for probably 2 years.  They were good at first.  They cleaned my filter and they put it back together wrong.  I would not recommend them to others.
Response from WATERLOO POOL & SPA
"The filter in question is a cartridge filter and there is only one way to put it back together so I'm quite confused concerning this complaint. If there was ever an issue that needed to be addressed we are always more than willing to discuss it and correct the problem in order to satisfy the customers needs. My sincere apologies for any misunderstandings."

All repairs were quality work and done in a timely manner. The company only has two employees, so they get very busy some times and you may have to wait a few days for them to come out, but worth the wait. Would use them again.

I have used them over a period of time on a regular basis to maintain my pool.  They are excellent.  They were very responsive and really provided great customer service when there was any issue.  They send someone out quickly, get the issue diagnosed and fixed.  I have a monthly contract with them.  The quality of their work and the knowledge of the owners are great.  They have been in the pool business for many years.  Their price is very competitive.

Waterloo did everything they said they would do and more.  Their price was reasonable.  Their work was top notch.  They answered questions.  They were up front on all aspects of the job.  When surprises popped up, they handled them without additional charge.  This is a great company.  The only drawback with this company is timliness.  Waterloo is only Todd and Teresa Johnson.  They are very busy.  When surprises occur, they don't run to the next job, they fix them.  So, occasionally, the next job has to wait.  This is a common problem with small, quality companies.  I would not hesitate to hire them again.

The folks at Waterloo did an excellent job. I was prepared for the bad news that I needed to replace my pool pump but after a quick inspection, they showed me the problem was only debris clogging the pump impeller causing it to lose suction. They explained all of their repairs, didn't mind me watching, and answered all my questions.  I will definitely hire them again.

They come out every week. They have very good rating and reviews on Angie's list. I think they are a little expensive than the other service providers but they do a good job.

I had called on a Sunday and left he message that this was not an emergency, I just wished to get on thier list.  They called back first thing on Monday and we set a date for the first visit. They were puntual, responsive and VERY pleasant to deal with.  They were very knowledgeable about pool systems and mechanicals and a little less knowledgeable about chemical solutions to problems.

My pool was in bad shape when they came the first time after not having been cleaned and chemically balanced for a couple of months. They did a great job and got it back on track. They charge a little more than the last company but do a much better job. They know what they are doing and I like them.

Recently I bought a bank-owned property in The Hills in Lakeway. The pool was one of many areas of the property that were distressed. The pool was so full of algae, that the house inspector failed to note that the polaris cleaner was in fact at the bottom of the pool! I got three quotes on the job to clean the pool and check and fix the mechanicals. Although Waterloo's price was competitive, I knew the minute I met Todd and Theresa that I would go with them as their clear knowledge and enthusiasm sold me right away. I made an excellent choice as Waterloo were diligent, straightforward regarding the challenge and came in on budget. I was so pleased, I paid them extra! And the pool looks fantastic! I have hired Waterloo to continue to maintain the pool, as well!

The Wednesday before Memorial Day weekend, I started up the pool and found the booster pump was leaking badly. I called around and the only ones who would come that week was Waterloo Pool and Spa. They fixed the leaky pump, replacing a seal and a worn shaft. It was after 6:30 PM when I got the call from them that the pump was fixed so they were certainly working overtime. I really appreciated their prompt service.
