"I regret that this customer was unhappy with this project. When remodeling, there can be some unforeseen issues that may arise during a project. When we come across a problem we immediately inform the customer and explain what it will take to fix it. In this case it was an electrical wire that needed to be moved. The customer hired another contractor to demo old cabinets and then another to install sheetrock on the wall which covered up a wire that was needed to install the new range hood and did not think to move it to the new location before installing the sheetrock. When we showed up to do the work and discovered the problem we informed the customer that there would be an extra charge for moving the wire to the correct location. He flew into a rage believing that there should be no charge for moving the wire because "we should have known the scope of the project when we bid the job". There was no way to predict the mistakes of the other contractors that he hired. Needless to say, we stayed and completed all of the other items on the list. He refused to pay for moving the wire so we could't install the range hood. I stand behind my work and am proud of the level of craftsmanship that comes out of our team. We probably would have moved the wire for free if he hadn't approached the situation in that manner."
"An estimate was emailed to you the very next day after our meeting in person. There was no reply from you. I personally double checked that the email address was the one you gave us. Next time please tell us that you did not receive the estimate. We would have been happy to resend it."
