Filter reviews by service
"I am owner of the company and personally schedule all of our appointments. I did not receive any calls from (Member name removed) to schedule an appointment or confirm an appointment. We have never in 15 years "no showed" an appointment and we always return all calls that we receive. All of our other reviews will attest to that. She has us confused with someone else."
"I canceled the client's service because we had concerns about the serviceable working order of his equipment. I contacted him 3 times via email (so that I would have a record of our correspondence) to ask him to allow us to address these concerns. I contacted the client on February 5th, February 29th and April 8th of 2014. He ignored every attempt I made to discuss our concerns about his pool with him. Here's an example of one of the emails sent to the client (this one from April 8th): "This is my third attempt to get in touch with you about the filter. Can you confirm that you are getting these emails? Filter really needs to be cleaned, but we can't do this without your authorization because there is an extra charge of $110 for this once a year service. Seth couldn't get very good suction to vacuum the pool today. It's not going to be in good working order until the filter is cleaned. Filter pressure is running consistently high. All filters reach a point where backwashing is not enough to flush out the residual debris and the need to be disassembled and cleaned." There was only one additional service that the client needed (a once a year service of $110 to disassemble his filter and thoroughly clean it). It was not an "additional hundreds of dollars" as the client claims. This service is comparable to changing the oil in your car. If neglected the quality of water is poor. Week after week we saw evidence that the filters were not cleaned. He is saying that he cleaned them, so there's not much point to arguing. The filter needed to be properly cleaned by a pool professional. It was not working well. Again, this service is an additional charge, so we needed the client's approval to move forward with it. We have never done ANY additional work for thee client that was not first approved by him. In fact, it cost us quite a bit in additional chemicals and cleaning during each weekly service because the filter was not working well. None of this cost was passed on to the client. We also did a full diagnosis on his heater which he claimed was only one year old. It was 11 years old (based on the internal date stamp). The client was not charged a dime for this full diagnosis on a heater which we were led to believe was new. This diagnosis (typically $95 for a heater that is older like his) was offered completely free to the client even though the information provided to us by the client was incorrect, Free service calls are not the hallmark of a company who tries to require " additional work for hundreds of dollars." The bottom line is I canceled his service, not the other way around. It's unfortunate that after doing business with the client for a year and a half (a service he was happy with by his own admission in our email exchanges after I canceled his service) that he felt the need to fabricate this story about our asking him to do "additional work for hundreds of dollars." I choose to do business with clients who are available to dialogue regarding the condition of their pools and the potential needs that should be addressed to keep the pool in excellent working order. That's why we've been awarded Angies List "Super Service Award" twice. We offer exemplary service and clear, thorough communication. This communication with clients is why we have a happy roster of several hundred weekly service accounts. I have only canceled service on a handful of clients in the 15 years we've been in business. I had no choice as the client ignored the necessary service required to keep the pool in good working order."
"It was a pleasure to work with you, [member name removed]! Thanks for the kind words."
"This is not correct. As the owner of the company I personally answer all of the calls and coordinate all of the service appointments. I never spoke with this gentleman. With 13+ years in business we have not once been a "no show" on an appointment. I hope all of our other reviews can attest to that. He has confused us with someone else."
The repairs were done quickly and so far so good about three months later. Rob followed up after the repairs to make sure that we were happy with the work. Everything is running great and Rob's technicians have kept the pool clean and ready to go. With my last pool maintenance company it seemed like they were constantly looking for things to repair and my monthly charges were never what I would expect. I would agree to the repair and then a couple months later the same part would be broken. I don't feel like I am going to have to deal with the same thing with Perfect Pool Care, but obviously time will tell. They have done a great job so far.
I fully expect to engage this company in routine pool maintenance in the spring.... super thrilled with the personnel and the way they do business.
Initial contact had a minor misfire, but once contact was established communication was regular, clear, concise, and effective. My questions were answered. I was provided a reference whom I contacted and questioned independently. We asked about potential alternatives, and got data about pros and cons so we could make up my own mind. The estimate was broken into pieces so we could decide what parts of the project we wanted to implement. We ultimately decided to do the full monty. I am happy to report there was extraordinarily little pressure to do everything. It was a very business like approach. We can do X, Y, or Z, and each option will cost these amounts and savings will be A or B because of these considerations. Options were very clear.
The Work
The work was performed on time, on budget, very professionally. Erik showed up when he said he would. Any problems he encountered, and I know he encountered some minor glitches, did not become my problem. :) The work took all or parts of at least three days. He came back when he said to educate me on managing the new system and the less-than-intuitive interface on the EcoSmarte controller. So far I have not encountered anything amiss. In redoing the work, they improved on a lot of the old stuff - for example, all the new switches are up at an accessible height, instead of being 18" off the ground. Duh! Details like that make all the difference between DUMB and NICE!
Follow Up
Rob, the owner, has followed up on a couple of occasions to ensure that all is well. I'm happy to report, it is.
The Results
Let's take this in two parts. This was an expensive piece of work.
Part One. We are completely satisfied with the quality and performance of the work by Perfect Pool Care in replacing our equipment. There is ZERO doubt about this. Great company. Would not hesitate to do business with them again. A+ all around.
Part Two, which impacts Perfect Pool Care tangentially (They recommended EcoSmarte and they are a dealer.) What remains to be seen is whether the EcoSmarte system will be effective through a Texas summer in sanitizing the pool. It is only March as I write this. It has been one month with the system. I keep detailed records and logs. In past years I have ALWAYS had algae problems in the pool at this time of year, not severe, but the annual battle was already heating up. I can quote you chapter and verse from my logs. This year, the pool is absolutely sparkling clean, the water is crystal clear and there is not one speck of algae, nor has there been since this system has been in place. In the almost 10 years we have had this house and pool, the water and the pool has NEVER been this clean. That bodes well.
Because of the automatic nature of the system (ionization, oxidation, Ph control with the CO2 canister, and the timer switches), pool maintenance has never been easier. I take care of the pool myself, and my care has been reduced to removing leaves, and adding phosphate remover once a week. I still maintain my logs. I am still adapting to the new system, and learning how it responds to changes in the weather, heavy rains, and so forth. I measure the water chemistry, make sure everything is nominal, and enjoy looking at all that wonderfully clear water, thanks to Perfect Pool Care.
As I said, it isn't summer yet. But so far, I am a very happy camper.
"We apologize for not getting back to you. It must have been a problem with our voicemail system... We always call back every inquiry we receive. Please call us back and we promise that we will give you the best service in the industry. Perfect Pool Care"
