He takes the money and runs - rip off scammer - I am taking him to small claims court as soon as I can - DO NOT HIRE!

I contact Patrick to have a pool deck curved metal railing installed in my NW Austin TX house. He was responsive and had the fastest turnaround of any of the quote of less than 1 week.
Patrick Moore came out for an initial estimate and then a second time to get a 50% deposit. The deposit was$985 check which he cashed the same day.
Then the excuses started, family problems, welding machine needs part (though he couldn't give me any more details even when pressed), rain (this was the only legitimate excuse), others jobs have priority.
After 2 months I got lucky and he took my call on a Tuesday, I asked him when he could do the job. He said Wed or Thur. I said "Great I'll see you Wednesday". He said, "No, it would be Thursday" Then he never showed. I called him Thursday morning before 9, no answer, at noon, no answer, and between 4-5 and no answer. Each time leaving a message.
I'm am now in the process of suing him in small claims court.
There is no reason to ever give this guy a chance.
