MIKE SHAW CONSTRUCTION

Work was started on time and performed with consistent attention to detail. Although this was a small job for this company, I never felt I was treated with anything but the utmost respect and consideration. My backsplash is beautiful and i feel the pricing was fair and I am a happy customer.

I would continue to use Mike Shaw Construction for projects at my current residence,  

I wanted more services done, but he forgot to give me a quote for replacing some dry wall.  Then he didn't go out the day he said he would.  I ended up having someone else do the drywall because I got the impression that he wasn't interested in doing the work for me.
The work I got done was small, and I felt like he was looking for bigger jobs, making me a low priority.

Mike and his team did a great job. The media center was modified from what would have fit an older, smaller TV to fit a newer flatscreen. It looks great, and as far as we can tell, the attic work was well done. We've received several compliments on the media center.

Excellent job completed in one day. Cleaned up and removed all debris and left my property clean. Would use again in the future.

They did decent work. Things were done the way we wanted it.

The project went very well, was on a reasonable timeline, and was on budget. Mike and his subcontractors were all easy to work with even with a large scope project. The permitting took over a month, but that mostly had to do with the City of Austin moving slowly. The project starting in September and was finished in November.
Mike was willing to look work with me on my budget and allowed me to do some of the projects myself to save on the budget. Mike and his crew did a great job of walking me through potential challenges on the job and always kept cost in mind. They are all very experienced which helped alleviate any potential issues. This was particularly imporatant on the kitchen remodel as electrical, plumbing, and a beam work all had to work together.
My only negative feedback, which isn't necessarily even part of a contractor's job function, is that Mike didn't help provide a ton of direction on kitchen layout, colors, appliances, materials, etc. If this is not an area of strength for you, I would work in an interior designer on any large projects.

I planned it for a long time and I picked out and purchased the vanity, tub, fixtures and tile. I used a separate paint contractor I had used in the past and paid them directly. Mike was good about accommodating them. Mike's guys picked up the tile I bought eventhough he did not not make money on the tile itself. I liked his employees and his tile setters. The tile work is perfect. I thought the plumber and electrician were expensive, but I have no complaints about their work. I recommned Mike and his company. They were very pleasant to work with. Our bathroom is beautiful. My next door neighbor will be using Mike for her bath remodel.

In the middle of a landscaping project it became obvious that we needed to replace parts of our privacy fence before proceeding further. I had used Mike Shaw before for other fencing and roofing project. I called and he was able to get his staff over immediately and work around the landscaping. The fence turned out beautifully and the gates are the best ever - much better than the ones I had built only six years ago by a contractor that will remain nameless. Mike's staff were a delight to have around and they cleaned up all the materials that were not needed.
