Made in the Shade was really great, from my earliest conversations with them at the Home and Garden Show, to the initial consultation, install, and after-the-sale support. During the initial discussion at the Home Show and during the consultation, there was never any pressure to buy. But, they answered all of my questions and helped me pick out the right shades for me. I'm very happy with the work and would definitely use them when I decide to purchase more automated shades. The price was a bit high but that is to be expected given that I had very wide windows and wanted the shades to be Alexa-powered. That always adds extra costs. I think I also got what I paid for - e.g. I had a very special and unique installation environment (curved window frames) and this presented some technical challenges. Made in the Shade overcame those challenges and gave me an incredible pair of automated roller shades for my condo. I highly recommend them.

I used Made in the Shade to put in new roller shades in my business and they look great! Matt went over all my options and gave his expert recommendations, so I really feel I got the best products for what I needed. A few months in, we had a small issue with one of the rollers, and someone came out the next day and fixed it at no charge. Would definitely recommend.

MiTSAustin is an amazing company! I used them on a recommendation from a friend. Kelli Houston called within 24 hours of my initial contact. Matt Houston came out within a week of my call. We talked extensively about what I wanted to do with my 46 windows. Yes. We have a huge amount of window and I had no idea what to do with them. We decided the most necessary windows to have covered and then the decisions on what type of blind/ shutter to install. As soon as the products arrived Matt was out to install. He did an amazing job getting them hung with batteries and remotes (when needed). Kelli and Matt had to make a change to one of my orders and called me to talk about it. They made a very nice choice of product and color when one of the blinds I had ordered could not be made to fit one of my windows. It has been 7 years and I'm still impressing visitors with my wall of motor shades and love my blackout shades in the bedroom. My sanity was on edge when we ordered the shades as we had huge ' wall o windows ' and the afternoon sun in the middle of summer. I've had to have the batteries in the shades changed a few times and each time I have either reached Kelli or have been called back within an hour to arrange a time to have the crew come out to change my batteries and do maintenance as needed. This family window covering (and more) business is the model of how to do business and customer service. I worked in customer service for several decades and have pretty high expectations. The Houston family of MITSAustin has been a joy to work with each time I contact them with a question or concern. I will be glad to endorse them and show my window coverings with pride.

This process from the initial meeting, scheduling and through installation was smooth. Everyone was very professional and answered all questions and concerns. Came out promptly when a small issue arose after installation and took care of items.

During initial consult, different options were well explained. When it was ready, the installers showed up on time and knocked it out quickly. Only reservation to working with them again would be price without a promotion. According to invoice, this one window would have cost $450 normally.

I could not be happier with my new patio shade! I telephoned "Made in the Shade" before purchasing the deal from Angie's List, as I had a few concerns. After speaking with Kelli, she e mailed me the options they offered, and I made an appointment to select fabric. The new shade has a continuous cord loop, which I love. It raises & lowers the shade so much faster than the crank shade I have. Everything went so smoothly, from start to finish. I love this shade even more than I thought I would. It is beautiful. Made in the Shade was wonderful to work with, and I highly recommend them.

They were very good. They're in Lago Vista, Texas. They were very good, very professional. It was Oct when they measured the windows. They are specially made so I didn't even get them until close to Christmas or just after Christmas. They are made to measure to fit your windows exactly. It's all hand made and it's all wooden shutters. They were great. It took them awhile because when you order any thing like windows or anything else that they measure it takes time for the manufacturer to get it to them and then to you. I would say it took about 60 days total. For $99 I got $400 off of custom made shades. ?It was expensive but I knew it was going to be expensive because it's all hand made. It's an in home service and they sit there and talk about everything. They show you pictures of what other customers have gotten. It takes your time. He measures the windows when they come in. It took about half a day for 1 man to put in. It was a lot of work. So it was expensive but it was worth it. They are magnificent shutters. They are very good, very professional and I recommend them if you want quality window coverings, something that's not from a department store, then go to Made in the Shade. They probably came in in early December. They had so many people that wanted their stuff in before December that I told them I would wait. I'm not having guests coming over to my house. They asked it if I wanted it right away but I told them that if you have people that were using their houses for Christmas, you can put me at the bottom of the list because I know I'll get it. It's just a matter of ?I really don't need it right away. They were ready but I just wasn't quite ready for them because I had a couple of other projects going. They called me as soon as the stuff came in. I got to give them credit for that. I just had them deliver it a little later. They said ok they would reschedule it at another time and I said ok.

To begin with, I received a call within 24 hours of requesting service on Angie's List and all subsequent responses were equally timely. This is a husband/wife duo, with Matt doing the sales and install and Kelli doing the office management. They both were very competent, informative, professional and, I have to say, patient and kind. I needed to revise my order, so I was not the easiest customer in the world and I really appreciated how accommodating they were and eager to please. I enjoyed working with them both and, oh, did I mention that I absolutely LOVE my blinds? They are a pleasure to me all day every day and I intend to ask Matt and Kelli to come back and install blinds in my bedroom when I get new windows installed. They are truly lovely and trustworthy people and I highly recommend them.

Initial visit was great. Matt came over and brought some plantation shutter samples. In our living room we have 2 upper windows and 2 lower windows on an 18 foot wall. In November and December the sun shines at just such an angle that you almost get blinded by the sunlight while you are in the living room. As a matter of fact, we would wear a baseball cap with the visor pulled down while we sat on the couch to block out the sun. We wanted plantation shutters so that we would angle the louvers and still allow sunlight in. Matt did an amazing job with the shutters. We cannot believe how great they look. I would recommend him without reservation.

Matt & Kelli are simply amazing. I was purchasing my first home with so many other expenses I shopped around for the best price and best fit for my home. I can't say enough about this team. We moved into a newly built house in Austin so, while we love the house, there were no window treatments and the entire house was painted in a dull builder beige. Made in the Shade was referred to us by close friends. Our initial project was window coverings for the front of the house, blinds for a bathroom window, and my office doors (little kids have a hard time when they can see you through french door glass on your home office). Matt and Kelli helped us determine the right styles and colors for the project. Matt found a defect on the composite blinds for the bathroom that we most likely would not have noticed and ordered a replacement. Since the initial install they have assisted with our kitchen/dining area and also installed floor to ceiling curtains in our 25" tall living room bringing color and life into the house. More projects are in the hopper...

Matt was awesome. It took a little longer than expected, but the only reason was because Matt sent back the original blinds. The reason was because be viewed them as a safety hazard for our kids. Even though it took an extra week, the personal care Matt showed was well worth the wait.

The process of working with Kelli and Matt was very easy and efficient. Much like they were for our window covering purchase, they were very professional, timely, and helpful in their correspondence with us. The installer they hired was also professional and worked very quickly. He also planned ahead to give himself more time to stretch the carpet as it was cold on the days of installation. On top of all of that, we LOVE our carpet. It's very soft, and does not show wear at all, even on the stairs, which our dog runs up and down all the time. We are also appreciative that Kelli and Matt advised us to get a non-absorbing carpet pad as we have a dog and a baby on the way. It will definitely extend the life of our carpet. I will use them again for any flooring needs.
