Water Heater - Repair or Service
I received a call back at 7:15 am, as soon as I entered my data on Home Advisor, it was New Years Eve day and the water heater was leaking onto the garage floor. They gave me a same day noon appointment time. The technician arrived ahead of the scheduled time at 11:30 am. He surveyed the situation and let us know what was wrong. He explained the fix, why and what was needed. He was friendly and knowledgeable and efficient. He replaced a valve and did not try to up-sell us. The charges were reasonable and we were back in hot water in about an hour and a half. We would certainly use this company again if needed. Thank you Brandon for your expertise and friendly attitude.

I rarely provide reviews but this is an exception because B J Plumbing was exceptional. They called beforehand, were they when they said they would and charged a fair price. The tech took the time to offer several valuable tips, worked quickly and charged us exactly what they bid. We had to replace a garbage disposal, repair a leak under the sink and remove a garden hose from a rusty faucet. All were performed superbly. Very highly recommended!

Very responsive and followed up exactly when they said they would. I have that both are rare for service companies in Austin. The tech was very friendly and explained what he was going to do and exactly what the charge would be prior to performing work.

Sunday Emergency Valve came loose. The quoted $99 for Sunday call out and then after 5 minutes of work they screwed the valve in, turned on the water and charged another $93. That was not quoted. On the invoice they listed the $93 as Miscellaneous Adjustment, i.e. the gouge factor.

A OK Plumbling have recently changed their name to Benjamin Franklin Plumbing - just haven't gotten around to telling Service Magic yet. Their initial fee (60 or 70 dollars) to set up an estimate was steep, I thought. However, if you are flexible, they will come by when in your part of town (1 day wait for me in South Austin), and do the estimate for free. I *HIGHLY* recommend the plumber, Rich, Tech # 27. He not only did the work, but since I showed an interest in learning what he was doing, he took the time to explain everything to me, including tips on what types of faucet supply hoses to purchase, showing me how to turn the water main to my house off, measured water pressure, etc. Excellent plumber ! ! !
