Over the course of two days he spent about 5 hours under the house capping off old connections and pressure testing. It never would pass the test. He gave me a bill for $570. I said he didn't fix anything and said he'd do it for $425. I did give him $425 as he seemed to try hard. He said he would put in a new pipe and vent for water heater for $4,500 more. At his hourly rate of $125, this is equivalent to four and a half days work. I said no. Later, I called Cody and Sons. Two people came out and said they would put in a new pipe and vent for $1,100. That included the permit. I said OK and now have hot water again.
Response from Anchor Plumbing Co. LLC
"It is unfortunate that you were treated in this manner, but you have the wrong company. We do not service the Dallas area, but we did search our records and found no match. There is an Anchor Plumbing in Dallas that is not affiliated with our company. We are a small family run business out Lone Oak Texas. Again, We are sorry to hear about this. Hope you have a blessed day! Sincerely, Jerry & Ashley Lester"

It is a pier and beam house and they were able to get to the leak easily. He was here very quickly and it took him about an hour and a half to fix it. It was pretty expensive since all he had to do was solder a copper pipe. It has worked and I haven't had any more troubles, but to me, a charge of $198 for an hour and a half of work to solder a copper pipe seems a bit steep. That is all he did and I decided right then that I wasn't going to call them again if I had any plumbing need. I had used them before for another problem and thought that they had charged too much that time as well.

Called plumber because of bad smell in the house in bathroom. They had to come back before they said it was the sewer line. They subcontracted the digging up of the sewer line and then covering up the new one. Of course, that was muddy, but they kept the mud out of the house, as much as possible. Everything is fine so far. One thing they are pricey.

Because we have used Anchor Plumbing many times in the past and have always been very satisfied, we again called for their service. They were able to come promptly and since I was able to tell them exactly where the leak was, they came with the unusual part and did the work without any problems. They said they didn't see many of this type of toilet anymore and were surprised they had the part needed, but they did since they have done a lot of work in older homes before including mine. They are friendly and trustworthy in their dealings. I know whatever they fix will stay fixed.

Anchor Plumbing is a wonderful company right in our Kessler Park neighborhood. They are extremely responsive and thorough and were able to handle all of the problems in our older home (78 years).
