septic system installers were provided a drawing and specifications for a
septic system I had designed and gotten approval to install from Travis County.
Mike’s proposal was in line with the other proposals I received with in a few
hundred dollars. I ask Mike to come to the site to review the project as I did
with all the other contractors on the bid list. He came and reviewed the
project with me. After I had made sure he understood the breadth and scope of
the project, I ask him for an estimate of when he could start the job and how
long he estimated it would take to finish the job. After I satisfied my self he
could to the job, I as him if he wanted to change his proposal. He said the
price he had given me was a good price and he did not change the proposed price
to the install the system.
Mike started the job within
the period he said he would and completed it within the time he said it would
take to complete the work. I am a registered professional engineer in Texas
with experience in designing and installing equipment. I know the difference
between right and wrong with regard to this type of work. As I had designed the
system, I wanted to make sure it was installed exactly as it was shown on the
drawings and the specifications were followed as written. I am very aware some
contractors want to rush in, slam the job in, and run away as soon as possible
with your money in their pocket. Mike did not work like this on my project. One
thing I noted was Mike did the work himself. He did not stand around and direct
the work of others or assign work for others to do and then leave and stay gone
for indeterminate periods of time. The project was installed as per the
drawings and the specifications were followed. I was on-site the entire time
the project was being installed and there was never a cross word. Mike
conducted himself as a professional and knows what he is doing.
The highest complement I can
give a person who has done work for me is to answer the question of whether I
would have him do another project for me in the future or would I recommend him
to my friends. The answer to both those questions is a strong YES. I would hire
him again with no hesitation and I would definitely recommend him to my friends
and family if they should be looking for someone to do this type of work.
