Called York about a lamp going out in my TV. They didn't have the part in their van, but said they could pick it up and be by within a few hours to replace the lamp. Got here right on time and did a quick and professional job swapping out the lamp and cleaning out the inside of television. Quick, professional, and only a slight premium over what I would have paid buying the lamp myself, waiting for delivery, and installing myself. Overall great experience, would definitely use them again or recommend to others.

NO one called and no one showed up.

I returned from a one-week trip to discover my bedroom TV set had no sound. I researched Angie's List & called Gary Warner of York TV & Video, a highly recommended provider. He asked the brand name of the set I have & stated that it was unusual for that manufacturer's sets to have sound issues. He recommended I unplug the DirecTV box & reboot the system then call him back if that didn't work. Rebooting did work & this "TV repair" cost me nothing but time. I'm impressed that Gary made no attempt to arrange for a service call or other way for him to make money. This was professionalism & small-town neighborliness at its finest. I will not have to consult Angie's List the next time I need repair services; I've found my technician.

I called York TV on the 4th of July expecting to leave a voicemail because the shop would be closed, but was surprised when someone actually answered. My TV had completely stopped responding. Gary was able to come out and pick up the TV for a small charge, which I did not mind paying. He looked the TV over and was unable to determine the cause so he removed it to the shop for an estimate, though he did let me know a few things it could be and an estimated price for each case. It took a few days, but Gary repeatedly called me with updates and price estimates. He even returned the TV to my apartment with no additional charge and it was working as good as new. I found the price to be very reasonable and was happy that I did not have to go into the shop after work.

I contacted York TV on a Saturday about 1:30 pm after their closing time. I left a message and did not expect a call back until Monday. However, I was contacted a few minutes later (talk about exeeding my expectations) by Gary who asked a few questions and agreed to come out. He was at my home in less than one hour and had no troubled fixing my Samsung HDTV.

I worked with Gary at York TV today. He fit me in same day and was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about TV's. He is as honest as they come!

My big-screen Sony made a "pop" sound and went black. A blinking red light on it's panel indicated the lamp had gone out. I found York on Angie's List, and called first thing Saturday morning. Gary immediately returned my call, indicated he would check to see if the part was in stock, then quickly called back to say he had it . He gave me a price and told me he had some other appointments but would try to be at my house by 12:30 (his hours are listed as 9-12 for Saturdays).. He showed up right at 12:30, and was personable and informative. He changed out the lamp, made a couple of adjustments on my settings for the tv including increasing the fan power and explaining why. It was a good experience from start to finish.

Dropped the TV off at 10 AM on Saturday morning and was told they hoped to get a diagnostic completed that day. Within an hour they called and advised the TV could be fixed for $130. I gave the go ahead and picked up the TV on Tuesday (it was ready Monday but my schedule didn't allow an earlier pick up) at the price specified. Great service and quick.

Working with Gary was a wonderful experience. I see why he has such great scores on AngiesList.

Wonderful experience. Gary happened to have time to come out to our house same-day to make the repair. (We also could have taken the TV to him and he would have repaired it in the store same-day if we got it there in time, but we opted to have him come to us.) Repair happened quickly, and all is well now.

Gary is very responsive. Called on Thursday and he said he's booked solid that day, so schedule to come the next day at 11am. Called at 11am sharp to say he'll be late for 10mins since there's a customer at the shop got delayed a bit heading out. Then 10 mins out, he's at my house, looked and checked the TV and determined it's the light engine problem. Since light engine repair cost over $1000 to repair, he recommended it's not worth repairing, just get a new TV instead. Without charging anything. He's professional, direct and responsive. Will definitely use him again.

FANTASTIC Overall experiece! I had joined Angies list on 9/15 looking for a tree trimmer and landscaper. The next day (9/16) is when our TV went out. Panic set in since this was a Thurs which means football on Saturday and Sunday!!!! We didn't want to try and rush out and buy a new TV so I logged onto Angie's list and reviewed some repair companies. Based on the member reports I selected York TV. I called at 9:30 am on Thurs and talked to Gary and explained what the TV was doing and the problems leading up to the final issue of it turning itself off. He immediately told me what he thought the problem was. When I told him where I lived he asked how I heard of him since that wasn't in his normal service area (which scared me!) but he said that he would be happy to come out to our house. He said he needed to confirm he had the part and would call me back. He called back to confirm he had the part and we set an appointment for the following day. He removed his shoes when he entered our home and within about an hour he had taken the TV apart (which is a scary sight to see it all spread out on the floor) and put it back together. Once it was up and running he adjusted the settings and today is Saturday and we are watching College Football......I can't say enough good things about this experience! Now that I have a good repair professional we won't buy a new TV until Gary says it isn't worth fixing!!!!

Gary drove all the way from Flower Mound to Uptown Dallas for the home call two times. I am pretty good about checking for the best deal, and they were very reasonable. Also, this TV had a similar issue a couple years ago and I had it fixed by Sony. I also called Sony's service and they would have charged about $500 for this. It's not often that I am happy after spending $250, but in this case I am. Gary was great.

I had 4 TV's headed to the landfill. Now I have 4 working sets, two will stay with me, the others donated to charity

Gary came out on a Saturday afternoon, saving us from moving our large set and possible breaking it further. He even took his shoes off when he came in the house because he didn't want to track anything in the house. Very professional and thorough.

My seven year old 36 inch Toshiba TV had the picture collapse from a full beautiful color picture to a vertical bar about two inches wide. This happened over a two week period. I called York TV because I had used then before I moved to Flower Mound. I reached Gary s phone in the early evening. I explained how the TV was acting and he called it a Vertical Collapse and said it was probably some broken solder on one of the circuit boards. He had an opening the next day and quoted about $150 to $175 to fix. Gary arrived a half hour early having called ahead to ask if he could come early. He immediately removed his shoes when he entered despite my telling him it was OK to keep them on. He said he respected my home as he did his own and felt better shoe less. Gary had to move the TV to get access to the back of it but did so without disturbing the cabinet it sat on. After removing the back plastic cover and the circuit board, he said his prognosis was correct and the set could be fixed with some solder for about $139. The work was authorized and he proceeded to do the work right there in my living room. He used proper protection under his work and it took but a half hour to fix. Once he verified the work done produced a good picture, he reassembled the TV and started to plug in the cables for our add-ons. That included a WII, DVD, VCR, stereo receiver and cable. He noted that the WII had not been connected correctly and offered to hook it up the right way. I now have sound when I play the WII, first time in six months. Gary s original estimate was reasonable but the lower amount he actually charged was for ease of reach for him, so he said. He was in my home only for an hour and a half and a professional for every minute of it. He was clean, fit and obviously knowledgeable about the problem before he ever came. He hand carried in his equipment and did not have to return to his vehicle for anything. No question, he has my hardy recommendation.
