TruGreen Lawn Care - 5344

After 11 years as a client on autopay, Trugreen sent my account to a collection agency when my online card expired (after 1 payment). Said they couldn’t reach me (after a pleasant conversation with their tech just weeks before in my front yard). After the obligatory apology, I was Informed it was simply how their system worked (or didn’t work) and couldn’t guarantee this would not happen again. Needless to say, I no longer use their “services”

It's pricey, you get good results but it's hard to add up really quickly. I didn't come into contact with anyone, they did the work while I was at work.

Generally satisfactory, but our lawn did not fare as well as it did with other service provider. Plus, we didn't appreciate comments the individual servicing the contract made about the tree care by another reputable service provider.

It's okay. The cost is pretty high. They sign you up for a bunch of different programs. I probably spent about $7000 on them, over the course of the year. It's pretty expensive. For as much as we put into it, I would expect it to look better. It's a nice lawn.

Their price is pretty much the same as everyone around here. They're competitive. I've had them every year for the last 3 years.

We switched from Tru Green to Scotts to save a few dollars and have had nothing but nightmares ever since.  Their "technician" came out and spread fertilizer haphazardly across our lawn.  It was hilarious to watch him work.  He literally ran back and forth, spraying the chemicals wildly as he went, as if he were running from zombies, or something. After a few days, our lawn had a fascinating, wavy pattern scorched into it.  We called and they sent the same guy out... with the same results. Eventually the pattern faded, and the weeds came.  Their treatment seemed to be hit and miss... mostly miss.  When we called to have them come kill the weeds, the technician used vegetation killer and killed the grass as well.  So, we had dead, brown spots flecked through-out our front lawn.  Finally a manager came out, but our lawn was never the same again.  Our neighbors got a good laugh out of our wildly designed front lawn.  Funny, Scotts never posted a "This lawn was treated by Scotts" sign in our yard. OH!  And to top it off, we paid our final bill and they tried to bill us again with added late fees.  We called and got them to admit that we had already paid, and they said to disregard the last bill.  So what did they do?  They sent us to a collections agency.  Stay far away from Scotts.  They're horrible!  Not even worth one star.

Have had many broad-leaf weeds this year, a lot of Dallas grass, some areas of the lawn are very thin and bare.  They did come out one extra time when I called about the thin spots and the weeds, but said the thin is from the shady areas of the lawn.  Not really true because these are in 80% sun!  They are still putting down weed killer but I still have a lot of weed and the Dallas grass isn't getting killed either.
I have received a good price of $42.00 for the basic services for the front and back yard (small back yard with a pool).  However, they call with additional services of $80.00 for fungus control, insect control, outside house pest control, inside pest control (an additional cost), aeration of the lawn, fire-ant control (not the same as insect control), etc.  I wish they would be as diligent in killing the weeds and taking care of the thin spots as they are in trying to up-sell other services.
This is the first year I have used them after having used a local company for the last 4 years.  The grass does look healthier and fuller in many spots.  I don't know if that is because of the lack of very hot days so far, of if their product really is making a difference.  I will use them the rest of the year and evaluate the results then.
Right now I can not say for sure if I would use them next year, it depends on how the rest of this year goes.

I saw no results from this treatments.  I have patches of lawn that does not have any grass at all.  My yard looks worse then my neighbors that do no work on their lawn at all.  On top of not performing as well as I expected, they give routine calls and pull scare tactics to order other services for your lawn such as grub and other insect treatments.
For 50 dollars a month I should not have to give my service technician a call and tell them that there is weeds in my lawn, it should  be taken care of.
By all means please stay away from this company.  They yield absolutely no results!!!!!!

Very through and professional.

Have used Scotts Lawn for over 4 years.  Originally had good results.  Have had bad nutsedge grow in yard every year and keeps getting worse.  Every year I have complained multiple times to have the nutsedge taken care of.  I discovered that they weren't even using appropriate chemicals to treat the problem.  Last service call they attempted to use MSMA to treat, which is not very effective on nutsedge.
I think they are just following a program and not really paying much attention to the lawn itself.
