SOUTHWEST FENCE AND DECK

Built an upstairs deck for me. When it came time to do some of the trim work though, they cut corners and used cheap masonite trim and failed to seal it from the elements before having another contractor throw a coat of paint on top. One year warranty on materials and workmanship. About 18 months later, that masonite trim had absorbed moisture and was swelling up in places (say it isn't so - well, it's outdoors...DUH). You'd think a "DECK and FENCE" company would know better than this. Well, they do and it's painfully obvious what they did...but well after the fact. You pretty much have to manage the job for this outfit to make sure they do quality work. You'd think the sales rep and the project manager would frequent the job site to make sure things are going well. Nope...not once, until you start calling to report issues in the quality of the build and then they show up with boxing gloves to defend their mistakes. Never again. My advice to Southwest Deck and Fence: Invest the money we spent with you **VERY** wisely. Word-of-mouth travels fast, and you can bet I'll be telling all my acquaintances about your shoddy job.

Southwest Fence did quality work replacing an old fence and building a pergola over a backyard patio.  Both the fence an pergola look really good.   John was great to work with and helped us come up with a plan we liked for the pergola, and was flexible in making changes as the work proceeded.  I would definitely use them again.

Excellent!  We had Jesus work with us on multiple designs and different phases of the project.  He presented us with many different options and was willing to take ideal routes to get the perfect final product.  He was always checking in with us and on the project to make sure that everything was as expected.  We made changes at different times and he and the crew were always willing to do what it took to get us to our perfect project.

Replaced existing fence with board on board cedar fence. The workers were courteous and worked hard all day to complete the fence which looks great. Price seemed a little high, but the quality is definitely there and we are pleased with the finished product.

I would give them top marks across the board.

Representative was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable about the materials, construction and suggestions regarding height of new fence (6ft vs 8ft) and cost of possible driveway gate addition.

I needed a new fence. I received 4 bids. Their's was not the most economical, but I believe you get what you pay for. Having used them previously to build a fence for me 20 years ago, I am still impressed by the fence they built back then. When I decided to go ahead and use them, it was done in the time requirement I requested. They even had the impossible to find (for other companies) Clear Cedar. I am thrilled with my new fence. You will not be disappointed.

The quality of work was very good, the cost was competitive, and they were very easy to work with. The only negative was for small jobs and getting them to come back to fix minor things its hard to get their attention.

I spent around $4000 on that work. I looked them up again this year to have some work done on my fence.

They showed up on time. They quoted me a cost that was the same as the ending cost. They were professional and got it built in a reasonable amount of time. They were very friendly and we didn't have any problems. I could have got it done cheaper but I preferred the quality of their work.

Our sales rep was very knowledgeable and he had a clear understanding of our objectives. We were told we would have a foreman on site for the fence work. However, the work crew rarely had a foreman on site and rarely had an idea about what work they were supposed to do. Fortunately someone was at home to stop them before they made several blunders. They ripped out my neighbors shrubs because they got in their way. The foreman and part owner (jesus) for the rod iron fence was extremely arrogant with my wife and to the SW Fence sales rep who quit shortly after the job was done. He was embarrassed about how his company treated us. The wood fence does look nice and the concrete is effective. (they had to rip out the 1st effort and start from scratch. The job took 4 wks longer to complete than originally estimated. Overall it was not a pleasant experience.

Very happy with work. Work was done in a timely manner. After each process, areas were left cleaned up. Company came up with a great idea as an extention of our home.
