Installed shutters on all windows in my house. They did a fabulous job and completed the work on time. It's a family owned small business which provides very good quality products.

They are courteous, easy to reach by phone, and prompt in their service. The owner, Julie, is an interior designer and available for service. I used her advice in the store but did not have her come to my home since I was using another designer.

The overall experience was better than expected. I was a little uncertain as the price quoted was half of what the three other quotes I received for the job. Julie came out and did an excellent job of taking measurements for the shutters. She also consulted with me on other window covering options for me to consider for the other windows in my new home.

The only issue I had was very minor, but is worth noting. On installation, there was a mix-up on some of the specifications and part of the original order had not been completed. This resulted in a two week delay. I found this bothersome as I had to take two seperate vacation days to have the work done, rather than one.

The quality of the craftsmanship and installation far exceeded my expectations. And the price was so much cheaper than the other companies. I would definitely recommend them to any of my friends in the future.

I called Julie because she put an ad on our door for blinds and shutters. We met a few times and our family decided to order blinds and shutters from her company. The prices are very competitive and her product did not seem much different from other companies. We ordered the shutters after meeting a few times. We were initially going to order all window treatments from her organization. But, some how we ended up meeting a few times and for what ever reason when we were ready to purchase blinds and she just kind of stop communicating. So we ordered blinds from another company and ordered shutters with Julie's company Read Design. The shutters were installed as promised. The smaller shutters are beautiful and perfect. The larger the shutters quality diminished dramatically. I had a problem with the largest shutter the first week and she sent over her repair man (took multiple times to get him to call me back). But overall I am still satisfied with shutters but not confident about warranty. Second, I ordered hunter douglas roller shades (they are beautiful). Once again I was satisfied with final product. The third product I ordered was roman shade for kitchen window. I ordered the product and she promised delivery in 2 weeks. I never received the product. I did touch base with her and she promised the product was coming and was experiencing issues with getting fabric. After that I never received roman shades and I attempted to contact her again but she did not responded to my e-mail. She is a 1 man show and your experience with her will depend on how busy she is for the day. Sometimes she is great and other times she will not communicate and will just drop the ball. Her behavior is very inconsistent and you just do not know what to expect from day-to-day. Her product is pretty decent but her professionalism is challenging. I really think she is just very un-organized and it affects how she runs everything. I would not recommend her services if you are looking for a company to work with that is no non-sense.

JULIE AND GARY WERE FRIENDLY IN PERSON. BUT THEY WERE HARD TO MAKE CONTACT WITH, ONCE WE PLACED THE ORDER. THEY DID NOT PROVIDE TEMPORARY BLINDS, AS PROMISED, UNTIL I REQUESTED TO DO SO SEVERAL TIMES. BLIND DELIVERY WAS DELAYED AS WELL. BUT THEY LOOK GREAT!
