Master Masonry

Company owner Roger Landry was very responsive and easy available to review the house and extent of project. He impressed with knowledge and experience. His quote was reasonable and below other contractor's proposals. Roger did all the work himself. He appeared on time, had lot's of equipment and got the job done in a long and busy day. He was able to do a good job matching the existing mortar color. A week after the job was done, nobody could see what and where.

Couldn't be happier with the quality of the work that was done. Roger is a true craftsman and a very professional person who was a joy to meet. Highly recommend Master Masonry for any job of the type that requires masonry repair.

It was a great experience! Roger arrived in a timely fashion and was very polite. I had no problems with scheduling. We walked around the perimeter in a thorough inspection and he educated me about masonry in general as well as about ways to maintain the house's facade over time. We discussed drainage, gutters, soil, and ways to prevent erosion as well as the proper way to manage vegetation outside in order to protect the bricks. When he was done, it looked amazing! The bricks blended in and if I didn't know any better, I would think they'd been in pristine condition all this time. I would definitely recommend him.

Couldn't be happier with the result.  You can't tell the difference at all between the old brick and the new ones.  Perfectly matched.  Roger was very professional, was here when he said he would be for the estimate and the work.  He was also very helpful with pointers on things to do that will help extend the life of our brick.  We've already made plans for him to return in a month or so for few more minor repairs.

It is November 2014, and I am reviewing the work of Roger Landry of Master Masonry from a job he did for me in 2006. I would have submitted this review years ago, but only ran across his invoice recently and remembered who he was. If I could give this contractor ZERO stars I would. His smooth salesmanship got him the job, but after that I was shocked at the careless and cavalier way he conducted his work. Looking up at the chimney from the patio, I noticed a few bricks missing and could tell the chimney was in bad shape. Roger replaced two bricks and I was told later did a sloppy and unacceptable job of repairing the mortar cap. When he came down from the ladder he seemed perturbed if I asked him to follow me to look at anything, so I barely was “allowed” to show him some places on the garage where the mortar was missing altogether. To this day I stare at the and quot;repairand quot; he did there of replacing missing mortar at waist-height on the garage (not hard to get to, in other words), and am always shocked at the ugliness of his work. The part that angers me the most, however, was his lack of concern for my safety and that of my family concerning the chimney. The chimney needed serious and quot;repointingand quot; but he only slapped a little mortar between four or five bricks and called it a day – and never mentioned what a terrible condition the chimney was in. I later found a man who worked on that chimney for five days straight (from 7:30 until 6:00 in the evening) -- chipping out the mortar altogether all over the chimney, which he said was the only way to secure the bricks properly so they didn't come tumbling down in a high wind, possibly killing someone, and replacing it with mortar he had mixed laboriously to try to match the color. I photographed the entire five days I was so impressed. I was also shocked at what Roger charged ($685.00 in 2006) and it took him no more than an hour and a half. By the time he got ready to leave his disposition had changed totally -- he became mean and almost sneering -- in case I balked at his bill -- so I wrote him a check and he left. But I have been angry about that job all this time! I do NOT recommend Roger Landry, the self-proclaimed and quot;masterand quot; mason!

Roger was fantastic. I called him and asked him to come give me an estimate on short notice when we decided unexpectedly to list our house for sale. He came the same day to give us an estimate. He then rearranged his schedule to make the repairs just a few days later so we could go live on our home listing on time. The day of the work he arrived on time and did a great job. When my husband came home he could not even figure out where the repairs had been made because they matched so well. I would highly recommend him and use him again if needed!

Roger showed up promptly for the appointments (quote and working). Original estimate did not include spacer course repair which was discovered after sill bricks removed for resetting. He was able to schedule the repairs less than a week out which greatly helped influence my decision.
The day of the work, he showed up on time, got the work done and finished in the time expected.
The work was done expertly and just as he promised. After the mortar has dried, it blends so well that it is hard to detect where he made the fixes.
I will hire again when the need arises.

Roger was a very nice and genuine guy. He is a true artist at his craft. He also gave me some tips about gutters and even oiled the lock on my gate. He was very professional and cleaned up after himself. The house looks great. I would use his service again.

Master Masonry was referred to me by the person who actually damaged the mailbox, thus I was very skeptical.  Comparing this estimate to a couple of others, we decided to go w/him anyways & do not regret it.  (his bid was in the middle, but they were all close in price)
He was prompt in providing the estimate.  Since the brick being replaced is out of production, he was only willing to match newer brick.  Both of the other masons were going to try to reuse the old brick & I just was not very comfortable w/that.  The match is not exact, but it is very good.
Master Masonry's handiwork is great, was timely yet thorough in his work (I worked from home that day & watched the entire process), provided great customer service & insight.
Would use him again & recommend to others w/out reservation or equivocation.

I think that we got him through Angie's List. He did really good work. He was really a master. He fixed the bricks better than ever. I think that he is his own company and he works all by himself. He does all the work. Our brick mailbox might need some work and we will use him again for that. His punctuality and professionalism were also great.

Roger was one of two people I found on Angie's list who I contacted for quotes to do some repair work on the mortar of my brick home. I set up a quote request on Roger's site and he called me up and scheduled the free estimate for the work. He came out and was very professional and gave me a written quote. I explained I had one other person coming out for another estimate and he was completely fine with that. He didn't give me any attitude or anything and told me to let him know if I wanted him to do the work.
The second guy came out and quoted $600 more for the same work. I got ahold of Roger and had him do the repairs. He did a great job and everything matched the rest of the mortar. I've saved his infor and will definitely use him again.

They did excellent work.

I was given an estimate on a Monday and the work began on Wednesday morning. He was finished by noon. I haved used him before and the experience was the same -- excellent. Yes, I did leave a phone message twice and it took 3 days for him to get back to me initially. But that can happen when a craftsman is in great demand...worth the wait.

He was prompt, efficient and professional. I did not get him on Angie's List; he was recommended to me by the man who repaired my foundation. I saw that he was on your list when I joined and that definitely made me happy.

Mr. Landry came out and looked all around the brick walls of our home. He gave us an estimate and made an appointment to return. He was on time, had all the materials he needed to work and worked all day. He does all the masonry work himself and takes pride in his work.. He repaired all the cracks in the mortar and replaced the bricks due to our 30 yr old home settling. Some were large and you would never know they have been repaired. Outstanding craftsman! If we need his services again, we will be happy to have him back.

I phoned Roger, and he was available to come out and look at the work needed. He gave me a very reasonable quote, and I hired him. Roger was able to come out and do the work the following week. He was quick and efficient in his work. You can't even tell where those cracks were now. He is an experienced professional with a great eye and attention to detail. I am very

Very professional. Arrived on time for both estimate and job. Hauled away all debris and cleaned up area when done. I was very pleased with the job.

Foundation settlement and subsequent repair resulted in cracks in the brick veneer exterior of our home. I called Master Masonry to get an estimate to repair the damage. Roger and I discussed the needed repairs, and he provided a written, detailed estimate. A few days later I selected Master Masonry to perform the repairs, and made an appointment for Roger to do the work. Roger arrived on time, and performed the repairs in a professional manner. Roger is a true mason and a craftsman who takes pride in his work. The quality of his work is excellent, and I highly recommend him!
