When my normal vet was unsure how to proceed when my blood was coming out of my dogs prepuce and there were no indications as to why, she sent me to Dr. Esmond.  Dr. Esmond has a special interest in the reproductive systems of animals so she thought he could help.  His staff is very friendly and courteous.  Dr. Esmond has great bedside manner, is very thorough, and knowledgeable.  He is easy to understand and seems to really enjoy what he does.  I really like the fact that they are open on the weekends as well.  My first appointment with him to figure out what was going on went okay.  He did a check over on my pup and explained what all the possibilities were and what route would be taken for each.  The problem baffled him a little bit too, but he suggested a flush solution and ointment to apply.  He and his staff showed me what to do and how to do it and said to come back in a week.  Went back a week later and the problem had cleared up significantly so he told me to keep doing what I was doing and come back again in a week or two and that I should just call in to see if he was there and could squeeze me between patients so that I would not have to pay for the visit.  I did just that and was in and out in about 10 or 15 minutes including wait time.  The problem was all clear and he gave us the thumbs up on my dogs p****.

The office is caring and professional. It is clean and odor free. We've always been able to get same day appointments when one of our dogs was sick. When we had to take one of our dogs to a dental specialist for treatment, Josey Ranch called us to check in even though they didn't do the work. When one of our dogs died, Josey Ranch was very caring and sent a card hand written by Dr. Esmond, and, if I recall correctly, even sent flowers. The vet techs are very nice.

It is just - generally speaking - a great experience getting care from Josey Ranch.

From start to finish the experience was perfect. I was called into a room a few minutes after arriving. The tech came in and made some notes for the doctor after talking to me. The doctor came in, examined my dog, and administered the vaccinations. A tech then drew blood for the blood work. After making sure the blood was spun down correctly I was told I could leave. The veterinarians and staff at this hospital are the best I've found in over 20 years. They are professional and very thorough. This is a very busy hospital and you may have to wait a bit from time to time but it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. You get the best medical care in the D/FW are hands down! I have been to several other vet offices in the past and had a VERY bad experience with one just recently (almost lost my dog) and will never take my animals any place other than to the Josey Ranch doctors.

The waiting area for this facility if quite cramped. Our dog is a 100 lb golden and I had my toddler with me as well. The wait was at least 20 minutes before we were called into a room. The reason we were there was that our dog had begun breaking out in itchy rashes since we had moved to Dallas (3 day road trip for the dog). He also needed his annual rabies shot and his vaccinations. I had his vaccination information with me from his previous vet. We ended up waiting another 20 minutes in the exam room. The room did not seem very clean and had some wet spots on the floor. I was uncomfortable having my child on the floor. The vet, when he finally arrived, was extremely hurried, handled the dog very quickly and impersonally and ordered blood work before the shots. He was quite impatient with questions and had nothing to say about the rash. Instead he started recommending a dental cleaning and pressuring that we get this done. To cap things off, they did not give my dog the shots, or draw blood, in the room, but insisted on taking him away to have this done. I tried asking them to do it in the room as we always have in the past, but the staff said that they always take the dog into the back rooms for the shots. I have never had that situation before. Usually I hold the dog and the blood work is done without too much stress or discomfort on his part. The entire experience was unpleasant for both myself as well as for the dog. Normally he loves going to the vet and used to be fussed over grandly at our old vet's office. This office left me with a terrified dog and a big bill. I will not be going back to them.

Absolutely, hands down, one of the best vet's in the area.
