We were told by the agent that they had everything that they needed. Then we would receive a call the next day asking for something else. We were told the week before closing that everything was ready to go for closing date. Then we were told the Friday prior to our Monday closing that we had to procure Texas drivers' licenses in order to close. We were out of state, and told the agent that there was no way we could have our cars inspected, registered, and licenses issued by Monday morning. She told us that we were mistaken, and that we didn't have to register our vehicles and that we could just walk into the DMV Monday morning and receive our licenses. That was not true, as we found out after having to delay our closing, losing money on our scheduled movers, and costing the sellers thousands of dollars as their new home closing was scheduled that day as well. When we finally got to closing, all of the closing documents were incorrect. Our names were misspelled, numbers were incorrect, the address on our new property was incorrect as well. We had arranged to pay our own taxes and insurance, only to find at closing that they had escrowed it. We were told that to correct the mistake would take another 2 days and a new closing. We left closing feeling awful, not how you typically would feel when closing on a house.

The long story: we initially started the refinance on our house in June 2012 with Fidelity Funding-we were told the refi would only take a month or two (for an FHA Streamline) and for closing costs that would cost no more than our current mortgage payment - which we would get to skip the month after the refi. We did not have extra money so that was important. Well...SEVEN months later and LOTS of frustration and getting the run-around, AND finding out my closing costs would cost three times as much as m mortgage payment, I was DONE!

So in January 2013, Luckily I shared this story with my sister, who informed me she had jus refinanced her house with Rick Davis of Evolve Bank. She raved about how wonderful he is and how he got her refi done so promptly and with low closing costs. I asked her to please email me his contact info, and I e-mailed him right away! Fast forward a little over a month later-my refi is done! My closing costs were LOWER than my mortgage, and my husband and I were most pleased! Mr. Davis answered EVERY question I had and explained everything so well-now I actually have a good understanding of the process. He was SO incredibly patient and nice. He knows the mortgage business inside and out and handled our refi wth so much care and skill. I am so grateful to him for all his help and we could not possibly be more pleased with the way our refinance turned out. One more thing-my husband works crazy hours and there was no way he would be able to go to sign the closing papers. Mr. Davis had a notary come to my husband's work and we signed all the documents there! If you thinking about refinancing or getting a new mortgage, Mr. Rick Davis is amazing. He makes this stressful and not so fun process as pain free as possible!
