This was originally published under remodeling in general but I wanted here so other people can see what a disaster this company is.
I agreed to company coming in on 4/16/2015 to accommodate company that was moving from one suburb to another & the owner said that they needed work. The original oral agreement was for work to done Thursday/Friday that because of incompetence was finished on Monday. There were bricks on the original brick fireplace that stuck out some 4". I wanted these left in place & the owner & workers agreed BUT they were demolished to leave a smooth surface THAT I DID NOT WANT. Then on Thu for the back splash one worker
carefully applied tape to cover the grout that I wanted to retain the same color & they then applied a mix over the tile. On Friday the worker said that this mix was wrong & they would have to be removed, which they did. Another man on Friday then covered the entire back splash including the grout. This hardened over the week end & could not be removed as it would have taken the existing tile with it. A further worker tried to remedy the bad work by putting a "wash" over the mix & another color for the grout but again this was not what was agreed to or WHAT I WANTED. Other posts have been about the son of the owner being so rude & aggressive & I echo them. I paid 50% at the beginning & immediately after the so called work was done the son was on the phone demanding payment by check. In view of the incompetence of the work I asked for a discount & after much, much argument he agreed to $150 from the original amount of $2900. He also demanded that I pay by check & at first would not accept a credit card. When I told him it was credit card or nothing he very ,very reluctantly agreed. Do NOT under any circumstances use this company. We had our patio overlayed and stamped in Jan. 2013 which was beautiful. Within 3 months the overlay was cracked and chipping. We contacted the company as we were having our pool deck done as well. The pool deck was scheduled for June 2013 and we agreed the patio repair would be performed then. The day the work was to begin, the company did not show up nor call. After repeatedly trying to contact them we finally got in touch and rescheduled the work after many apologies. They finally showed to perform the work in July which was supposed to take 2 days and wound up taking two weeks due to their errors. We finally wound up with two overlays on top each other which caused a lip between the deck and the pool coping after various disagreements with the supervisor and asking him to leave the property. We contacted the company and told them he was not welcome back. The crew was great but they ran out of materials repeatedly and again we had to wait. Some days they did not even have the gas to show up to perform the work. I had to give them gas money to show up or otherwise the job was stalled again. The job was finally completed and within 6 months all the material was cracking and popping up. We tried to contact the company and received no response. The job was so bad we finally had to completely remove our pool deck and patio and have new concrete (aggregate) laid.
I would avoid this company at all costs unless you want to burn money and time!
I agreed to company coming in on 4/16 to accommodate company that was moving from another suburb & men did not have any work for this period. The original oral agreement was for work to be done on Thursday & Friday this then stretched to the following Monday before it was finished due to incompetence. There were bricks on original fireplace that stuck out some 4" that we agreed would be left after the slurry was applied. These bricks were cut from the fireplace thus leaving a smooth surface THAT I DID NOT WANT. On the back splash, the first two men on Thursday, were careful in applying a thin tape to cover the existing grout which color I wanted to retain. It then turned out that the material they applied over the back splash was wrong and on Friday it all had to be removed. Another man who came in on Friday then applied a material that covered the entire back splash including the grout which color I was trying to keep. This new material hardened over the week end & could not be removed without damaging the existing tile. Another man then applied a wash with color over the wrongly applied material but this again was NOT WHAT I WANTED or had agreed on but had to accept. In view of the incompetence of the work I asked the son of the owner for a discount. He was very rude in his argument that they had tried their best & also at first refused to accept a credit card for the balance of the work. I had initially paid 50% down. After much argument he agree to $150 off on an original amount of $2980 & to accept a credit card but it was done with great reluctance.
On their web site they quote reviews from Angie's list but apparently are not represented.
I would NOT use this company any circumstances.
"Clearly we are Cre8 of Dallas. We do not and have not ever done any work in New York. This is not something that we did."
"Cre8 has thousands of satisfied customers that purchase our product daily. Our business is to do an overlay on floors which we were doing for [Member Name Removed]. He was not happy with it when we put the first layer down. We explained that our product goes down in two layers and he would not be able to tell what it will look like until the second layer has been laid. The first layer is nothing more than the grout line that will be carved out of the second layer. The customer never gave us a chance to complete the work. He asked us to stop in the middle after doing only the first coat. We would have been happy to complete the job just like we have done for 1000's of other customers. We pride ourselves on great customer service."
The owner's son Garrison president of the company came out and sold me the Job They did stone work in my house in
(JUNE) and messed up my just newly remodeled house . The workers did seem nice and the stone wall looks fine at first glance till but during the process they They messed up my new wood stairs and than brand new painted walls during clean up. The wall looked nice from distance but for the price of $6000+ the edges messy and the
Stains left on new wood stairs after stone work and problems getting anyone to return calls I called their office and the Presidents (Garrisons cell phone numbers and when their he finally got back to me he said let me call some of the workers and he would call me back but the owner never called me back. My stairs sat with wet material on them all day and night.
It took me writing and calling and writting NARI www.naridallas.org before seeing any results
and I had to write a complaint before the came out. Huge portion at the bottom of my stairs had turned black. I found out that on Angie's list there were a lot of people complaining about this company. Wished I had been a member of Angie's list prior to using this company. not mush better results on BBB My mistake for not doing a better check on this company but with all the contractors I had out previously I slipped up on checking on this one.
Finally they brought a painter who was a girl She seemed OK but she cut her finger five minutes after she had arrived I felt sorry for her. She did also get some colored paint on my ceiling so but mostly its ok so me and my husband will deal with it and have it fixed. But now me and my husband at this point did not want this company any in our house. Other than if we have to call for any warranty work. hopefully we will not but they did not seal the stone and it seems to still have dust so time will only tell. We are done with them.
Garrison did not even act like he cared. I know people make mistakes but they did not act like they cared and they need to have way better customer service, they are quick to call you back before you pay them But horrible at calling you back or getting some one out to fix their mistakes afterwards took till (AUGUST to get things repaired)
The workers are very nice and courteous show up on time and the artistic work looks fairly nice its the Company and Garrison not returning calls and getting someone out here promptly and taking too long too resolve issues ONCE YOUVE PAID
The finally results do look nice for the most part but time will tell but I would not use them again and personally feel it should of been sealed too just hope It holds up so that I do not have to call them for a warranty job.
"Garrison spoke with this customer 20 plus times and has been out to her home 5 times or more. Garrison wasn't able to answer the 10 phone calls that the customer made to him back to back due to being in another customer's home. Once Garrison didn't answer [Member name removed] called the Cre8 office and let us know about her wood stairs as well as the paint on her wall. Once Garrison was informed about the phone call he immediately found a company that could go out to repair her stairs. We also had a painter on staff that could go and take care of the paint on her walls. We had a really hard time scheduling both the painter and the wood specialist as [Member name removed] had a very busy schedule while trying to get this taken care of. We sent one company out that [Member name removed] didn't feel "comfortable' with so we called a different company. We then had a hard time getting this one scheduled. Once everything worked out with the schedules of all parties involved the wood stairs and the walls were taken care of and the customer signed off on these repairs. She has never said anything other than positive things about the stone work that was applied to her home. With the exception of the above mentioned items that needed to take place once the job was completed she was a happy customer. Cre8 prides itself on positive customer experiences and this instance was resolved and taken care of with no mention of anything but positivity when it came to the stone applied."
Product seems to be as advertised and as promised.
"Thank you for your review. Please feel free to contact us if you have any problems in the future. We stand behind our product and will be glad to help in any way we can. Thanks again,"
"When Cre8 went out to bid this job for [Member's name removed] he asked if we could go take a look at his neighbors home as well since they were interested in the possibility of getting some work done. He then asked if we would give him a discount for referring her and we could do the jobs at the same time since they were across the street from one another. Cre8 did all that was asked of them as well as offered a payment plan for the balance of the work that was performed. (Cre8 doe not do financing). The balance was to be paid in the amount of $500.00. When the customer called stating that the crew had gotten overspray on the walls (no damage) he asked if we would give him a discount of $250.00 to please his wife and he would take care of painting the walls himself. We did just that and gave him a $250.00 discount. The balance of $250.00 was paid and the job was completed. The original job was to be done within one day however the customer added more work while we were there so of course it would take a little longer to have the work completed. This was a very difficult customer to work with as the wife would call screaming at our office staff while the husband took a totally different attitude and was kind and easy to work with. The customer did all he could to help us with pleasing his wife. I have attached the final payment that was received 4 days after the job began which would go to show that the work was complete. This payment also reflects the $250.00 discount that was given to them. Cre8 never leaves a customer unsatisfied and we always get the final payment once the job is completed, never before as she stated in her review. We only received the first half of the payment when the job started. Please note the dates on the contract that was signed by [Member's name removed] as well as the date on the final check that was issued to Cre8."
"Thank you for the positive review. We enjoyed working with you guys. Please feel free to call us in the future if you need anything at all."
"Our office is located in Dallas. We do not do work in the Houston area. This review can't be about our this office."
"Cre8 offers a lifetime warranty on our countertops and will ALWAYS come out to repair any problems you have with them at no additional cost to the customer. Please call our office and schedule a time to have anything done to your countertops that you are not satisfied with. The reason we offer a lifetime warranty on them is due to the fact that they are durable and we do stand behind our product."
"Thank you so much for the positive review. It is great to get positive feedback. If there is anything we can do for you in the future please feel free to contact us. Thanks again!"

After 2 weeks of no repair work scheduled the phone calls started again and again no response. When they finally called we were told that they had tried to reach us but no one answered. We are both retired and one or both of us is home 95% of the time. They also have our cell numbers and we have an answering machine. Now they are trying to schedule the work in June. Our last communication with their scheduler is that we need it completed before May 14th. That was a week ago. No response. We asked for Garrison to call us a week ago. No response.
There were issues when the job started. The workers did not have a work order of what was to be done. I was able to communicate with them and after lengthy discussions and a visit from Garrison the job was started. And of course the check was picked up.
We have never had such bad customer service in my life. We had many other jobs that we wanted them to do outside but there is no way that we would ever trust this company to do what they promised.
UPDATE: APRIL 30, 2013
We finally received a call and we were told that the and quot;repairand quot; job could not be performed until June... 4 months after the initial work. Three weeks ago, Garrison assured us that it would not take another 8 weeks to satisfy our wishes. He has yet to return a phone call to us in the last 10 days of leaving messages.
If anyone is planning to use this company for remodeling, please withhold at least 10% of the agreed price until you are completely satisfied with the job. My gut feeling was to hold on to the check until after the 10 days of drying but we didn't. Maybe if we had, our living room would be completed by now.
UPDATE: June 26, 2013
Our 'repair' job was completed June 20th or rather this will be the last day that we will have any dealings with this company. We informed Garrison that we would return on June 3 and would appreciate a repair date scheduled by phone upon our return. Instead a crew showed up unannounced on 5 June. We were not prepared for them(trying to protect our furniture and hangings on the wall, etc). The earliest they could schedule us was June 20th at 11am. The initial work started in February. We were called at 1055 to see if we could reschedule. I said no, that we had prepared the room and moved all the furniture so they needed to come that day. We never received a response that someone was coming. When the young man showed up at our door after 1PM we were as surprised as he was since they had not called us back to confirm.
Again, the repairman did not have a work order. He didn't know what he was suppose to repair. He thought it was some quick cracks that needed to filled. We had to give him the information that Garrison was suppose to provide. He also had to leave to buy a wire brush because he was not prepared for the job. Not his fault....Cre8stone was not concerned in attempting to satisfy us as customers. He attempted to correct the color in the bar and was unsuccessful. We finally told him to quit because the and quot; naturaland quot; stone was not showing up and he was removing was little was left of the stucco.
We are done with this company. When called to see if were satisfied, the lady found it strange that we were still unhappy with the results and suggested that I send her a picture and she would send out a more experienced technician. Really? Why weren't we given this type of service 4 months ago? Again, we are done. We want to finish building bookcases, painting the walls, buying new wall accessories. We missed Easter, birthday party, and 4th of July. Maybe we will be done by Labor Day.
We feel strongly, that a partial refund is in order. We will see if Cre8stone will honor their statements that they guarantee their work and that they strive to have complete customer satisfaction.
Javier came on 2/9 to fix the cracks. We had been told by Donna that they were going to do a and quot;kiss coatand quot;, a light coat that would fill in the cracks. When Javier came he just patched places. There are still many unpatched cracks. My husband called Donna and told her he wanted to talk to the owner. We want it fixed and we don't want Javier again. We still haven't heard from Gary, the owner. In a few days I will call my credit card company to get hold of my money back until it's fixed.
Finally, a new crew was sent out and said it had been done wrong. It was re-done and all it well. It just took a lot of time and phone calls.
"Our number one priority at Cre8Stone is customer satisfaction. We have gone out and taken care of this issue. This fireplace has been repaired. I spoke with the customer today 3/6/13 and he is more than satisfied and said the "kiss coat" made all the difference in the world and he is happy."
"Thank you for your comments. It is great to hear positive feedback about our products. Please let us know if we can be of any help to you in the future."
