Every step of this project has been terrible. The floor installer never called me in advance to give me an ETA. Then, he arrives and he doesn't speak English. The installer and I could not communicate which is a major issue when it comes to a flooring install. The installer was alone as well, and was at my house from 9am to 7pm for a standard sized living room, if not smaller-than-usual. There were many damages, including chips in the laminate flooring and the transitions were warped and there was caulking/glue seeping from underneath the transition. I promptly documented the damages and sent them over to customer service. The customer service representative, Michelle, was somewhat rude and was skeptical that the installers caused the damages. The only saving grace with this company was Ben (who is recently new). He was the only one willing to advocate for me and assist me himself. We scheduled a repair for the damages and I requested someone English-speaking (I think that's a fair request). The individuals who did the repairs also did not speak English, but they were able to fix the transitions (but they caused additional damage). They did not replace the damaged planks and they also ripped part of the new flooring near the transition while they were replacing it. I am very disappointed in this company and should have hired locally.

These ppl were awful right from the start they started charging me more for tearing out tile and additional trips. They didn't tear out from under the stove for new flooring. They charged me extra 266$ for tearing the floor out which should have been already included. They never had to come back which they charged extra 100$ for. They never had to remove appliances my family had already come and pulled them out so they only scooted them to get old flooring out and there was NO WATER as which they kept trying to say I had to fire them and get new contractor. It would have gone on for weeks with these ppl they didn't even the courtesy of calling me back and discussing anything. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

HORRIBLE!! Please stay away from this company. The workers are very rude especially to women. Instead of helping take apart a bed frame to move the floor they had a 53 year old women do it on her own. On top of that they did not listen to a life threatening allergy that was told to them 3 times. Not to use any caulking or glue. They agreed and said they will NOT. But they did it anyways. This company is a hazard.

Jason did an excellent job. He was on time, fast, friendly , professional and clean. We were amazed at how well he did his job. We would be happy to have Jason come to our house and install more carpet again.

My wife and I are nonplussed regarding our backsplash kitchen blue tile job at our cabin last October. They left no room for grout to tie into our kitchen counter in more than half of the job! We have repeatedly offered to compromise on a redo but Cooper and Home Depot will not budge. They both have lost all credibility with us! As a Cooper lady told me, the installation guideline for that tile is 1/16th of an inch. I met with a gentleman from Home Depot (driving 500 miles to meet him there!) and he noted that it was not done correctly because in at least half of the area it’s tile stacked on top of tile! What’s particularly irritating is that HD & Cooper keep acting like they just need to finish. It’s gotten to the point where they are a nuisance. There were some broken tiles and they didn’t finish. They did 90% of the job but that won’t fix this! This is going to be a huge mess because now we have to remove the concrete and the tile! It’s even worse than before! Thanks a lot! This process has wasted tons of our time and money! We also have to re-order tile and then pay somebody else to do it correctly! Again, we offered to bear some of the expense. We were not able to meet the installers since we visited our son in another area. My wife’s mother had recently died and the visit was good therapy. However, we had some friends whom we rented the upstairs out to who let them in. I heard HD/Cooper say several times that if we had been there we could have stopped them! What bad rational! Home Depot says the installers are “Professionals.” If they were Professionals we wouldn’t have to look over their shoulders. The reason Home Depot wants someone to be there is for liability purposes - not to supervise their work! They installed floor for us last summer and we didn’t even look. It was fine! To boot, the crew showed after 5:00 P. M. And they were supposed to arrive during the afternoon. Cooper Installation and Home Depot’s motto should be “You’re gonna like it whether you’re pleased or not” because that’s how they treated us.

First off my husband and I had encountered a frequent complaint of many other reviewers concerning Cooper Installation Services and laminate flooring installation. Our concrete slab had a 1/4 inch elevation along middle of living room. The directions of laminate (Pergo Outlast) to be installed stated up to 3/16 inch elevation is allowed. We were offered a choice of leveling this with cement for about $300 or grinding the cement down 1/16 inch for $150. We choose the grinding. I do understand the installers following the directions carefully. At the same time I feel DIYers as a rule would not be concerned about 1/16 inch and the DIYers would have had the same results. Of course there is the argument that 1/16 of a inch would void the laminate warranty but over and over I heard in my research that the odds of getting a flooring warranty honored under the best of circumstances are quite slim. Just be aware additional charges are a common complaint among reviewers of laminate installed by Cooper. Now that I got that communicated, do want to say we were overall pleased with our installers. Was told they would arrive between 9 -11, Juan and Raphael arrived at 8:50! They worked solid till the job was done about 1ish. We had one room installed. Had to direct them what direction we wanted the planks laid; initially the first planks were laid in opposite direction that adjacent flooring was laid. Also had to tell one installer that planks needed to be mixed up over a few boxes to insure a better grain. They obliged readily. On the positive side the men were clean cut; spoke English well, and were experienced. They moved my furniture professionally and cleaned up. Pergo Outlast is a laminate that overall gets great reviews but installation is quirky. As Raphael said “it has many rules”. And this team did well. I like to think I researched the whole process well. We purchased the flooring through Home Depot and Home Depot contracts with Cooper Installation for installation. Before I would give Home Depot my credit card, told the flooring associate that first I would check out Cooper Installation. Was very disappointed in their reviews and my gutt said no way can we use them, so I pursued independent installers. Just couldn’t find anyone that had installed Pergo Outlast. I asked one installer to watch a short UTUBE video concerning Pergo Outlast installation and after watching he increased his bid to install by $350! So went back to Home Depot; the flooring specialist said if Cooper was difficult Home Depot would stand by us and I could pull the plug at any time with a prorated refund. Also I was pleased that the Better Business Bureau rated Cooper Installation A+. Although the reviews were mostly negative on the BBB site I felt any conflicts were satisfactorily resolved. So I finally gave Home Depot my credit card and once our laminate was delivered Cooper was able to install 4 days later.

All 3 times were amazing!!! These guys are artists!!! No lie. I read all of the reviews and it seems as though certain people needed to chug down a Xanax with a glass of wine before they met their friends for lunch. I know quality when I see it and they are the best I've ever seen. Tile, hardwood/laminate, floorboards, quarter-round, you name it. They are THE best bar-none.

I waited almost six weeks for an installation date. Materials were delivered to my house and these materials sat in the kitchen for six weeks. I was told to plan 5 days for installation.
On the day before installation I moved to hotel and boarded my two dogs for the wek.
When my installation team arrived they walked into the house and began inspecting the premise. I left to do some errands and when I returned the guys were sitting in their van and the lead guy came out and said I needed to call Home Depot. Bottom line was they decided they did not want to do the install because I had a subflooring issue in my upstairs bedroom - they said the floor was not level and sloped to one corner. The team left and told me when the subfloor was corrected they would reschedule the install.
I had another contractor come out and we pulled the carpet and laid six foot levels all over the room. There was no more than 1/16" difference across the whole room. I called Cooper and told them it was repaired and asked when they could come inspect it again. I was given a date 4 weeks out and told they would not reschedule the installation until they inspected the room.
Now well into 10 weeks from the date of purchase and looking at another six weeks after the inspection. I said no way.
I fired Cooper and cancelled the order with Home Depot.
It was a horrible experience.

This was one of the most frustrating installations I've ever experienced. First of all, this was supposed to be a 72 hour install but Cooper could not fulfilled that promise. I paid for the install on a Thursday and when I called them the best they could do was the following Wednesday (the 72 hour install promise is not really 72 hours but 3 business days - that's NOT 72 hours). When I finally got the install scheduled, I was given a window of 1-5 pm for the installers to show up. A customer service rep showed up at 3 pm to see how the job was going. She didn't even know that the installers had not even shown up yet. And when I complained that I was not happy with the install and having to wait this long for them to show up, there did not seem to be much she could do about it (so why are you there?). They finally showed up at 4:45. They apparently had been given an extra job that day and mine got pushed to the very end. The installers were good and fast, at least. I'm very disappointed in Home Depot and Cooper Installations. They just did not keep the promises that they made. It will make me seriously question whether or not I want to have Home Depot install anything ever again. And I definitely would not want to work with Cooper.

When they arrived, they found multiple things wrong, from defective product, excessive moisture, inability to re-install molding, and an 'uneven floor'. After they left, they were no help to me in resolving the issues with Home Depot. When I finally got all the information from Home Depot several weeks later, the installation cost had more than doubled. I cancelled the entire order. If you use Home Depot installation, I suggest you realize that the installation estimate is not accurate until the installation people come to do the install and if they don't like anything about the job, they may disappear and fail to help you resolve any issues, however, you will still have to pay for their 'trip'.

I was going to give up; but thought I would give it one more try. Contacted Cooper Installations and they sent out their regional manager who assured me that they would make things right. They did all the leg work and reordered more flooring which was delivered to the house. They repaired the floor and it finally looks great. .All in all it took five seperate visits by Cooper Installations to get it right; but get it right they did.. So on September 20th 2013 we finally had the floor we contracted for in February. Will I do business with them again? Maybe. The fact that they were dedicated to getting it right is a giant plus in their favor.

This work was all through the Home Depot in flower Mound Tx. Company came 2 times to measure and get info on all they needed to give quote. Contract was signed w/quote and flooring paid for. Services were scheduled 3 weeks out after the flooring was ordered and received. The day of installation, the workers came in, walked around again and said that they would have to grind off a lot of the cement slab to prepare the floor for the laminate covering. This is a fairly new house that had no cracks or uneven spots in the slab. The workers said it would be an additional $4,000. dollars for prep work over and above the additional quote. We called Home Depot and they said if the men told her that then it would be true. In both visits they made to the home the carpet and pad had already been removed and they had looked at the slab all over and measured. Never did they mention that they thought it was uneven. When Home Depot and Cooper Installation would not honor the price of the contract, we ask them to leave. Being a single female, I was not in a position to cough up that much more money. I now have the floor installed, my family and myself did the installation and it looks wonderful. We had no issues with the foundation and it laid very level Needless to say, My family and myself are very disappointed with Home Depot and Cooper Installation.

1st install in June complete nightmare.
2nd install by Dennis. He was very professional very friendly and repairs the floor well. I'm glad the company stood behind the product (allure floor) but its sad we had to re install again. Thu did call me several times to make sure it was right after the last install. Maybe next time send a good installer the 1st time! Dennis jr did a great job. If I used them again I would request him. What a ordeal!

I ordered new carpet from Home Depot just before Christmas and wanted it installed the day after Christmas.  Cooper was the installer hired by Home Depot.  Cooper called several times to assure me when they would be there and arrived on-time.  They had to haul the new carpet up a spiral staircase and stretch the carpet on a very cold day.
The installation went very well and the new carpet looks great.
They cleaned up all the mess and there was no damage to any of the walls, so I will not have to do any repainting.

I will never have Home Depot or Cooper Installation perform work on my home again.  It was the worst experience I have ever encountered with installers.  Cooper Installation does all the carpet and tile installations for Home Depot in the DFW area.  I paid for and set up the installation through Home Depot.  Cooper Installation called me and advised me that they would call me back with an exact installation date.  I advised them that I needed the installation done quickly due to be needing to put the house up for sale soon.  I was already more than a week behind since they had waited over a week to call me after I paid for it.  Home Depot never told me who to contact for the installation.  After going back and forth with them and them not calling me back, I had to call them and complain to get a date two weeks later.  The company called the day before they came and said the installers would call every day 30 minutes prior to their arrival.  The said it would be anytime between 9-11am.  The install was to take 3 days on a Friday, Saturday and a Monday.  Two days for the tile install and one day for the carpet install.
I got a call at 830am (they said 9-11am and 30 mins prior to coming) from the installers telling me they were outside my house.  I asked about the 30 min phone call and they apologized for coming early and not calling.  The two installers were nice and worked quickly.  The used my water in my front yards and ended up dumping the used tile water out on my front lawn (mind you I'm putting the house for sale as soon as they finish with the install).
The next day a different installer showed up at 900am without calling 30 mins ahead of time again.  He was there to install the grout between the tiles.  I showed him the two bathrooms and the kitchen he needed to grout.  He finished the two bathrooms and then dumped out the rest of the grout mix on my front yard.  He then showed me the two bathrooms and said he was leaving.  I told him he hadn't done the kitchen yet and he looked at me like I was crazy.  I showed him the kitchen again and he said he had run out of sealer.  I had to go by the another bottle of sealer so he could finish the kitchen.  After he finished and left, I noticed that the residue of the grout under my front yard water hose and the side of my house where he had mixed it.  He had also dumped the left over grout in my front yard.
After the grout dried over the weekend, it was dark and light in numerous different places in all the rooms.  The grout just looked dirty.
The carpet installers (three different workers) arrived on Monday and of course they didn't call before they got there.  They were actually really fast and did a decent job.  The only problem was is they didn't push down the tack strips in between the rooms with tile.  My wife actually cut her foot on the tack strip while walking barefoot into the bathroom.
The carpet installers looked at the grout and stated that it look  ed
The original grout installer came back to my house after I complained about the grout.  He put more sealer over the old grout and then left.  After the grout dried, it still looked bad if not worse.
After I complained again,  a manger came out and looked out the grout.  She took photographs and said she would to submit them to their board to see if they would come back out and redo the grout.  She said she would call me back the next day.
A week later I get a call from the business wanting to schedule the tile workers to come back out to re-grout the tile.  The same workers came back (without the 30 min call again) and "scratched" out a line in the tile and put grout back over it.  The problem was, they didn't do behind the toilets or in the pantries in the kitchen.  It looked a lot better when they were done, but it wasn't perfect.  This was the 5th time they had come out and we had already put the house on the market and people had come to looked at it.  I finally just gave in and lived with the work because it was interfering with the sale of the house by now.
I forgot to mention that I was forced to remove the vinyl flooring from bathroom due to being installed in the 1960's.  I had paid for them to removed it and they said they would call Home Depot to refund the money.  I have still have not received the refund.  During this whole process, I have never been contacted by Home Depot about the worked performed.
I would  NOT recommend Cooper Installation or Home Depot for carpet installation or tile installation.

It did not start out so great - but it did improve vastly once some issues were resolved. A little background - we had a sewer leak that infiltrated the house - everything was contaminated and ripped out. The installation was on slab, and that slab had been scrubbed clean and sanitized several times over the last few months before this last step (this carpet installation) was preformed. #1 -- The installers were surprised to see all the tack strips pulled up. The main installer said they "weren't suppose to be" because of what it says in their mailed brochure (which says not to pull them up.) I said I paid to have new ones installed, and that I told their estimator. I paid for 101 linear feet of tack strips, but apprently that was underestimated by their estimator. Not my fault. Then I had to pull out my paperwork to prove I had paid for this additional service. I had told the estimator, but he did not write it down. I was annoyed that even though it was in black and white on my Home Depot contract, no one had translated that into the installers' work-order. He kept saying he could not do work that wasn't on his work order. He called into his contact at Cooper Installations and once he saw it was paid for, was authorized to do the work. #2 -- The estimator also failed to write down that I wanted carpet tack strips and carpet installed in two 24" x 34" entry hallway closets. It was not included on the scope of work in the work-order, so I had to pay extra for that. $50 extra. #3 -- There was a question of the color of the carpet, too - which in bright sun looks much lighter. Also it has a nap and that affects the color -- so we had to walk around the carpet to make sure it was indeed the right color. Thankfully, it was. I was thankful I had kept a sample and had it handy. #4 -- The last thing we had an issue with was about was the "Customer Supplied" transition strips. Though the pieces were out and leaning up against the wall in the work area, he said he had them on the truck and he would have to charge me extra for using the ones I had. I said no, I had specifically picked out these because I wanted these to be installed. I had wanted a certain kind. And I was very clear with the estimator what kind of transititon strips I wanted and that I would be providing them. It is because when the ceramic tile had been installed (before we bought the house) the tiles all have a raw edge that was visible and it was an area where my Grandsons have cut their little feet before. So I was REALLY clear with the estimator about exactly what I wanted. I wanted and bought aluminium/brushed nickel. The estimator said they were fine, since I had picked them up before he got there just so he could see them and to make sure they were the correct ones. The installer said he had to use what was on the truck. I pulled out my contract, and there it was in black and white, that I was supplying the transition strips and that they were OK'd by the estimator. Once we got these formalities were out of the way, the installers (2) were quick, professional, detail-oriented and thorough. They were here for nearly 4 hours and worked through their lunch. I made sure they ate lunch and had drinks, something I do with all tradespeople when they are working in our house. Their brochure talks about scratches that may occur on the walls or baseboards of newly painted surfaces that would need touch-up paint - that fit this particular installation to a T - and again, not a scratch anywhere. They even vacuumed my newly-installed carpet! They left behind all the larger carpet scraps, but took all small carpet bits and pieces and all the debris this installation generated with them! The carpet looks fantastic! The seams are invisible and the edges are all nicely tucked under the baseboards and the brickwork around the fireplace. You cannot see or feel the raw edges of the tile anymore, and I am very pleased about that. It is so professional looking and I am very pleased! I have used this company before for another carpet installation in 2009 (I didn't realize it at the time) and that carpet is doing just fine. I would use them again. There is a one year warranty on the installation that I was told about on the phone during a Customer Satifaction Survey I took the next day.
