Dan was very dependable, accommodated our needs and provided advice on placement and size of items. Wood flooring in dining room had to be removed because type of wood I had wasn't available. Dan provided supervision to workers who didn't know what to do when they realized tongue and groove was different. But all worked out fine, a abet not costly. I would have liked larger island, but that was husbands fault and not Dan's. I love till out cabinets and spice rack he installed in island. Also granite match kitchen counter perfectly. Overall great result and cost way lower than other quote.

Dan's crew was punctual, efficient, professional, and accommodating.  They cleaned up at the end of each day of work including picking up drop cloths.  Workmanship was excellent.

If you choose to use Chipman Contracting, be sure to carefully write your specification.  I had one issue where I had asked for a walk-in closet to be repaired and retextured but I did not specify that the texture was to match the bathroom.  The repair was done as requested but the repairs were retextured to match the existing texture pattern in the closet.  Not a big deal but would have been nice to have the two areas matching.

Chipman's bid was close to two other bids but I was familiar with the workmanship after having used them to remodel a house bath a few months earlier.  The lower bid was not accepted after seeing the contractor's workmanship.

I highly recommend Chipman Contracting.

The house we bought was built in mid-80's; was a fixer with a lot of deferred maintenance and was in bad need of remodeling.
Dan's crew gutted all 3 and 1/2 bathrooms and the kitchen, then built from the studs out everything we had requested; including installing custom cabinets and all new appliances in the kitchen, custom cabinets and vanities in all the bathrooms, granite countertops, new sinks, tubs, toilets and fixtures in all the rooms.
Painted all the rooms, replaced almost all the light fixtures and ceiling fans.
They then tiled all the bathrooms, and installed hardwood flooring throughout the entirety of the 3000 sq ft house.
This was a mammoth job. Could not have gone better. Always on time, schedules (miraculously) all met even with us living in the house while they worked. You can not go wrong hiring them to do work in your house.
He works with an excellent cabinet maker, who designed the space exactly the way we needed it. They even subcontracted a roofer to do roof repair (that we hadn't expected needing). 
They designed the kitchen layout, then came out after 2 weeks (so the cabinet had everything ready) demoed it all on one day, installed all the cabinets the next day, stained them over 2-3 days, installed the appliances, tiled over 3 days, and painted. A custom kitchen was finished in less than 2 weeks.
Only (marginally ) negative was that it would've been nice to have an exact schedule of what they were doing each day, but honestly even that's unrealistic with the scope of what they were doing in our house. 
A word of caution for those reading reviews of them on here; you need to be realistic about what your budget can do. Some of the reviews unfairly criticize the company or their work, not realizing the product is only as good as your budget will allow. Dan Chipman is pretty good at getting what you need within your target price. He even mentioned to me that he'd rather do "10 kitchens for $30K, rather than one for $150K" (which I think is just good business sense). If you want walnut cabinets and marble counters, you have to say so and be willing to pay for it, not bash the contractor on Angies without doing the job because "his price is high". 
I also would advise people, regardless of who you hire, to buy the materials yourself (tile, flooring, appliances, granite / quartz / marble counters, sinks, tubs, fixtures,..etc) rather than expect a contractor to know what you want. Dan also put us in contact with very good designers, and suppliers of all the materials so we could pick what we wanted, then did an excellent job of remodeling.

Our house was built in 1991, so it was time to make updates. I interviewed several companies and I am glad I selected Chipman Contracting.
Kitchen: new granite in entire kitchen, tile backsplash, remove wallpaper, paint, install new appliances, remove old ceiling fan, install new fan, sand/stain wooden window sills, new sink, garbage disposal, faucet. 
Master Bathroom: demo to the studs. install new spa tub, individual shower with area for a foot rest for shaving legs, inset box for shampoos, frame less shower doors. Remove wallpaper and light fixtures, paint walls, paint doors, install new faucets for sinks, shower and tub, new light fixtures. New hardware for towels, toilet paper holder, etc. 
Dan Chipman is the owner and project manager.  We liked the fact that Dan came by every day to check on the project, kept in touch with me by phone or text very well.  Most of the jobs were completed by his own employees, I saw the same people during the entire project. They were friendly and they wanted me to be pleased with their work. The workers laid down paper to protect my carpet and tile areas, they were respectful of my house.  Dan's price did not include an allowance for items for the house. I bought items on my own: appliances, tub, sinks, hardware, tile.  Dan didn't provide a designer but that was fine. When we had questions, he would tell us about his past projects and what other home owners put into their homes. 
We bought on our own: tile, appliances, fan, faucets, sinks, tub, disposer, cabinet hardware, towel hardware, light fixtures. Since we bought many items on our own, we had a huge selection and variety of prices to choose. Looking at model homes and friend houses helped a lot.  His company was able to work with everything that we bought. I did buy my tile at a Dallas store and Dan picked up the tile. 
Dan was flexible on his schedule since I wanted to be at home for the entire project. The frame less shower door was delayed due to issues but I also delayed the project by traveling out of town on a business trip. I didn't let the workers come into the house without me around.  Overall very pleased with the work that is completed, happy with the new look the house has.  Brings a smile to my face when I walk inot the kitchen and bathroom.

The work was excellent. They were very timely. They gave attention to detail and crew was professional. They performed a quality job and we are very pleased with them.

They came out quickly to look at the old lights and provided an estimate on the spot.  The work itself took less than a few hours and it turned out great.

The company did a very good job.  They were totally professional, on time and worked consistently throughout the day.  Workers were friendly and throughout the job they asked for my feedback on how I thought it was going. They seemed very concerned about whether I was pleased with the work as it progressed.  The job was completed in a timely manner and on budget.  I would definitely use them again.

Came to the house promptly to evaluate the project and give an estimate.  The work was done very soon thereafter at the price stated and done very well without any problems then or since with the project.  This is someone who will do a good job at a good price and acts as though he really appreciates your business.  He was there on the job supervising the work done.  The price was very fair and was significantly less than a couple other more famous construction outfits in the Dallas area who gave us estimates.  We were VERY happy with this company and plan to use them in the very near future with some additional upgrading of our kitchen.

Chipman Contracting was very professional. Dan responded to my email inquiry the next day and was able to come out to consult after work. He provided a fair estimate the next day. His crew showed up on time, worked professionally and cleaned up the space. The doors look great. The wall matches the surrounding wall precisely, including the texture. While they were there, they even patched a crack in the wall. The job was done in the expected timeframe with no surprises. I would definitely use them again.

Great attitude and very handy

Couldn't have asked for better service.  Chipman Contracting was wonderful.  They started on the specified day and the owner, Dan, came by every morning to see how things were going and answer any questions.  They removed old shower and tub and built a beautiful walk-in shower.  Dan helped with the design and placement of tile.  They also tiled the floor and textured over very old wallpapered walls and then painted the walls, doors, and baseboards.  They removed and then installed new faucets and lights.  They finished in the 2-week estimated time and the cost was exactly what was estimated - no hidden costs!!  I will be using them again very soon for more work in other areas of my house.

Dan and his team were very professional, courteous, responsive and clean. They did great work and saved our project after another contractor left us in the middle of a job. Dan was there regularly to check on the work of his crew. We would recommend using Chipman Contracting

It went fine!  They showed up on schedule and checked in with me whenever they arrived or left.  The owner, Dan Chipman, showed up every day to check on the progress of his crew.  If I called him with a question he responded promptly.  I am very satisfied with the job and am planning to talk to him about some additional work.  I would highly recommend!

Dan was prompt in getting the quote, started on time and finished right on time.

I needed my chimney siding replaced with James Hardy siding.  Price was a bit high, but I wanted a company that has experience with this material and I also don't want the lowest bidder.  Work was performed quickly and yard/patio was cleaned up well.  The chimney is perfect!  I couldn't be more pleased.

Chipman Contraction was prompt and professional. They did a very nice job at a fair price and Dan Chipman was pleasant to work with. It was painless! I plan to use Chipman Contracting again soon.

Mr. Chipman came out within 3 days of my first phone call to review and give me a estimate.  They started the work on Thursday morning promptly at 8:00 each day the guys were there on time.  When they finished the job they cleaned up their materials and the job looks great.

I have never found anybody as good as Contact Chipman Contracting. He is the best. He is licensed and insured. They do it right. If it isn't right they correct it. They clean up after themselves. They are very knowledgeable and know what they are doing.

Workmen started to arrive one hour early so crew was prompt and ready!  They were very professional and worked cleanly and efficiently.  I was very pleased with the overall job especially the quality of the ceiling work over the pool table.  They removed a ceiling fan and moved the electrical box so that a new billiard light would have squared over a pool table.  I have a hard time seeing where the original spot was after they completed filling the hole, matching the ceiling texture and paint color.  I would use them again.

When we realized we had water pouring through the inside walls and onto our floors we called the Water Company, the Insurance Company and then a Renovating Company.  We also called Chipman Contracting.  Dan and Robin were at our house with wet vacs before anyone else arrived.  They immediately went to work and had a lot of the cleanup accomplished before the Water Renovator arrived.  After the house was dried out they were here to talk with the adjuster and make sure he was aware of all the damage.  Our kitchen was gutted and rebuilt.  Our cabinets were custom and done at a reasonable cost.  He used a stain specialist, leaving us with cabinets that look like a piece of furniture.  When the granite man made a mistake, Dan took care of the problem, correcting it perfectly.  The flooring is beautiful as is the ceiling repair, new lighting, appliances and painting.  Compared to people we have used in the past, Dan's superior.  I can't say enough good things about him.

It went well. I was out of town when the work was being performed. I did not like the way the transom turned out originally. That was my fault because I did not explain in detail what I wanted. After explaining to Chipman our dislike they redid the work exactly to our request. It turned out beautiful.

The kitchen paint job was perfect. No complaints.
