The contract was signed on 2/26/14 and the panels installed one month later. This seemed like a long time, but late winter/early spring is their busy season, so it was reasonable under the circumstances. The existing DE filter was on it's last legs, and Sunrise Solar recommended a new, 48 sq. ft. one, which increased the cost a few hundred dollars.
Sunrise Solar uses FAFCO panels and the Pentair Solartouch Solar Controller, both of which are excellent. Check out www.fafco.com and http://www.pentairpool.com/products/automation-solartouch-solar-control-system-447.htm. The solar controller is particularly useful. Not only can you specify the temperature range of the pool water when the panels start and stop heating during the day, you can also specify the temperature range of the solar panels then the system kicks in to cool the pool water at night. We keep our pool at 84 degrees even during 100 degree weather by using the night time cooling feature.

My pool man found the company that originally installed the panels. They're the only isolated company in the city that does this work. My whole service with them was $500. They did repair to the netting and tubing upon my roof so that was a very reasonable price.
