Kent Thompson

I hired Kent in March 2013 to construct a barn on one of my properties.  He started off fine, and all was going well through framing.  When the slab pour started, his subcontractor started calling me and I started getting suspicions, but was trusting and tried to work things out.  Kent stopped communicating and I was only able to get a hold of him by calling from new phone numbers, until eventually that stopped working.  I've since been able to hire a homebuilder to help me finish and am back on track, but am going to be out around $15,000 above Kent's original quote.  I plan to file charges as soon as I'm positive of the exact amount I'm over.  I just hope no one else gets screwed by him.

Terrible. At least he will be in jail for some time. The sheriffs office was great they took all of our evidence and will be getting his but in jail.

Kent Thompson also does business as Thompson Barns.  For about 2 weeks, he was really good about keeping in touch with us by phone and email.  All of a sudden, he quit responding to phone calls and emails.   We sent him a certified letter asking if he was going to complete the job and when he would be starting as he had already cashed our check the day after we signed the contract. He has not replied.  We began to get really suspicious and found out that he has done the same thing to another couple.  We have contacted the local sheriff department and he had a warrant out for his arrest.  We are now taking legal action to stop this man.  We are probably out $8250 and that really hurts.  I hope that he doesn't bilk someone else.
