ChAmp Bell Systems

I initially had someone else look at the furnace.  He cleaned a small part but indicated that the furnace was not working because there was no gas coming into the unit.  This wasn't actually the issue.  Gas was available, but there were other issues with the furnace.  I could tell right away that the 2nd service technician knew exactly where to investigate and identify the issue.  He was able to demonstrate the issue with the switch and did some quick work to get the furnace going but indicated the switch was bad and needed to be replaced.  He replaced the switch and then noticed the motor wasn't working properly.  Before replacing the motor, he tried replacing a smaller (less costly part) that he thought may fix the issue but indicated that sometimes even with that part being replaced, the motor usually goes bad soon afterwards.  But to save me on the cost, he replaced the smaller part (at my request) before taking the leap to replace the motor.  It turns out the motor was bad as well, but I thought it was considerate of him to try the lower cost option first before replacing the motor.  Most service guys are not normally this thoughtful and many will want to charge you the most right up front without going through a process of elimination.  When it was all said and done, he was very efficient and squeezed me into his busy day on a very short notice.
