"Excellent results. Jerry was on time and very efficient. Carpets look new after the cleaning. Not only did he do an excellent job of cleaning the carpets, but the advice he gave for maintenance was of great value."

"Artistic Touch was very prompt in calling me and setting up an appointment to look at my antique armoire needing repair.  They were on time and concluded after examining it that they would need to take the door in to be repaired.  They told me the  price based but it would depend on how much refinishing of the door was required to mask the repair.  They were finished in less than 4 weeks I and returned it at an agreed time and date.  The armoire looks great.  The repair is invisible. The price was as quoted.  I'm very pleased with the outcome.

"They were the cheapest quote and I felt that they were so low I actually added to the job. I added a bathroom and a bar area. The guys are really professional, they came out and measured then gave me an estimate and I liked it so much I told them I wanted to do two other projects at the same time and they said no problem. I had a $10,000 budget just for my L-shaped kitchen and he came back under that to do my bathroom, the kitchen, the bar and a small island. If I could give them better than an A I would. They showed up quickly too. During the week I had gone to the shop and picked out my granite slab, and left them a 50% deposit. He came over on Friday, drew everything out, took a picture of it, sent it to the shop and they started fabricating."

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

Furniture made from materials resistant to sun fading includes metals like aluminum, stainless steel, and wrought iron, as well as certain synthetic materials like polyethylene (commonly used in outdoor wicker furniture) and resin-based products. Glass tables and accents are also sun resistant. These materials inherently withstand UV rays and are less prone to fading or discoloration. Furniture with UV-resistant coatings or finishes, such as powder-coated metal or UV-protected plastics, offers enhanced protection against sun-induced fading.

Yes, you can reupholster antique furniture, and it’s a great way to extend the life of your pieces and keep them looking fresh and new for years to come. In fact, since reupholstering furniture is significantly more affordable than replacing it, reviving antique furniture can be a cost-effective way to keep that family heirloom usable for much longer. It’s usually a good idea to leave antique reupholstering to a professional, as they will have the tools and expertise to ensure the piece isn’t damaged and looks professionally finished.

The process usually takes 1-2 weeks, and it is highly influenced by the materials, complexity of the project, and any customization desired.

The time required to reupholster furniture depends on the item's size, complexity, and condition. The hands-on work can range from 2-3 hours for a simple dining chair to 10 to 20 hours for a large sofa. The total project timeline with a professional, including fabric sourcing and scheduling, typically ranges from one to three weeks.

Several factors can affect the timeline. Antique furniture often takes longer due to the delicate care required. If additional repairs are needed, such as sanding or refinishing wood components, the process will also take more time. A DIY reupholstery project will usually take significantly longer than a professional job.

Interior and exterior door openings are typically 80 inches high, with openings 29¼ inches wide for interior doors and 35 inches wide for exterior doors. If your couch is smaller than these measurements, it should fit through the door frame.
