They have been pretty good. It is a small shop, but the owner is trustworthy, he won't charge you more than you need. He will do things that need work, but he won't add on things. The shop is small, so a lot of people want work to be done there so it affects the responsiveness. When they say they will work on something, they will get down to it, but it may take a few days.

They were closed past their opening hours. I remained there 30 minutes extra, but no one shwed up and there was no sign. I think they may be out of business.

did a great job - also changed oil and rotated tires - more than 1/2 the cost of the dealership

The most pleasant experience I have ever had with car repair. I am very pleased with the work and the cost. The orginal estimate was $1,200 and the actual cost was $1035. I have put close to thousand miles on the truck since the repairs and all is good. I highly recommend this shop to all!

Service engine light on 2001 Toyota Tundra pickup came on during Spring Break camping trip. The grip handle on the driver side had broken off the month before and needed to be replaced, so I decided to take it to the Toyota dealership since I had a coupon for a free service engine diagnosis, bad idea! I wasted half of my day off waiting for them to tell me that the oxygen sensor needed was not in stock and the door handle would have to be ordered, both should be in by end of week. The big problem was that even with my coupon, the total estimate was $568. I was debating going through with it until I called my husband. He said they were crazy and to tell them we would go somewhere else. We went ahead and ordered the grip handle, about $40. So I got on Angie's List and started looking around, I called about 6 places to get estimates and they were all about the same so I chose one that had 3 good reviews and when I called he said he was about 20% cheaper than most dealerships! I took it in Tuesday morning and it was done by 3pm. I took him the code that had been given by the dealership for the sensor with the estimate on it, he agreed said what they wanted was way too much and that he could do it for under $300. He replaced the grip handle and oxygen sensor, even told me that the sensor didn't have to be Toyota brand and would be just as good. He was a one man business, stated that it was hard to find good part-time help and that business wasn't always steady. His office, which was just a desk with computer and printer, was located inside the garage. Long story short, he was very nice and honest, saved us about $350.00!!!! I will be using him in the future! NO MORE DEALERSHIPS FOR US,COUPON OR NOT!!

My Dad came to me asking to look into finding someone to fix his car 2002 Mitsubishi Diamante because it would rattle a lot in the cold mornings. It also had the and quot;Service Engine Soonand quot; light on. He wanted to have it ready for the state inspection that is due in a few months. He has had horrible experiences with other mechanics in town before and was leary of where to take it. I looked on Angie's List and found Mr. James's shop, Wilcox Automotive. It had other and quot;Aand quot; reviews so I called him to help my Dad out on February 4, 2013. That was a Monday. What impressed me first was when I spoke to Mr. James on the phone he took the time to explain things and was never in any way condescending. Being a woman, I had encountered mechanics in the past that made me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about or was talked down to. Mr. James was always very patient when I talked to him on the phone. My Dad took the car in that day and by Thursday, February 7th, the car was ready. It would have been done sooner but being that the car was close to 170,000 miles, Mr. James recommended the timing belt be changed. My Dad thought it was a good idea since we couldn't recall or find the paperwork to verify if it had been done before. I like the fact that he mentioned that with all his years experience as a mechanic, he had competitor shops calling him when they were unable to diagnose a problem. The amount my Dad wanted to keep within did go over but being that the car is so old and he wanting to keep it running for a long time, he had maintenance work done the we knew it needed. That included the timing belt and water pump, fuel filter, change out spark plugs and cables, 2 belts, distributor cap, thermostat, and a few other things. We felt for all this work in parts and labor it was more than reasonably priced because I had called Rick's Automotive in Cleburne, only because it was closer to town, and they wanted to charge $1800 just to start off without looking at the car! Mr. James will work with your budget and answer all your questions. I would recommend him to anyone needing a good mechanic. He offers 1 year or 12,000 mile warranty on his work.

My 2000 V8 Mercury Mountaineer was getting very poor gas mileage. James Wilcox did a computer analysis and spent considerable time cleaning the air mass sensor and checking other components. The result was about a 50% increase in gas mileage. I was very satisfied.
